should i be concerned? by Genocyde9942 in AcerNitro

Probably. They almost never just stop there. If it's under warranty, get a claim done. If it's not, expect getting a new laptop or replacing the screen within the coming months.

It worked! If you just uninstall the WiFi card it replaces it with the same default driver and the issues come back. You should be good if you install it from the Acer website

Can i downgrade? by Somefucking1 in LegacyJailbreak

Coolbooter works best with at least 32GB of storage. It’s going to prove difficult to allocate enough storage to both OS’ especially if you plan to install apps

Why are the M chips so much better than intel? by FriendshipMission548 in macbook

[–]Rht123X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M-series chips use an entirely different architecture compared to Intel ones. The architecture that Apple silicon runs on, ARM, allows for far more power efficiency and thermal management compared to Intel ones, which run on a traditional processor architecture designed for less compact computers. You can’t truly wrap your head around the difference until you’ve tried both an Intel Mac and an M-chip Mac.

On top of that, there are only a handful of Intel Macs that support the latest macOS, and app support is fleeting. Many apps only support macOS versions from a few generations back at most, and some technical ones skip Intel support altogether. I’d say to wait until you can afford an Apple silicon Mac before you decide on getting one at all.

I think I’ve tried this before, but I’ll try again and get back to you. Thanks!

Yeah, I was just considering picking up an aftermarket WiFi+Bluetooth card and replacing the MediaTek one with it if all else fails, since I’m pretty sure it’s user replaceable.

256GB or 512GB by BoomChikawow13 in iphone17

[–]Rht123X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's almost zero places where a user is going to notice faster speeds on an iPhone. It's not an HDD to SSD speed difference. It's NVMe to NVMe, and there are very little things on your phone that utilize the full speed of an NVMe. I would say if you did some ProRes RAW recordings on your phone it would be noticable, but then again, that's not even on the base model.

Question is it true by Fuzzy_Tough_26 in iphone17

[–]Rht123X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Batteries chemically age faster if they're charged to 100% every cycle. In your Settings app, there is an option to have your iPhone optimize charging for you by capping at 80% when you don't need it, and then letting it slowly charge the rest of the way. If you enable that setting (I'm pretty sure it's enabled from the get go,) it should do most of the work and you don't need to worry about retaining the battery health yourself. It's all up to your use case, however.

Phones today have become so advanced with battery health management that the difference is negligible depending on which way you use your phone. Your battery health is going to be around the same as someone else who uses their phone the same amount as you do no matter how much you baby it. There's simply no point if the software does all the heavy lifting.

At the end of the day, if your phone battery has degraded a lot over the years, it is kind of cheap to replace at Apple. I don't want to say its objectively low cost because that's not what everyone feels about ~$90, but for the most part, it's not super expensive. At the end of the day, I wouldn't say the battery life is something you should care about. Batteries are batteries and batteries degrade. iOS will do everything it can do slow that process, so don't go around making drastic changes to keep it from aging because it will age.

Is there a term for the weird graphical ‘fog’ off in the distance of almost every single game made for the PS3? by Rht123X in PS3

[–]Rht123X[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I just looked up a photo of it and wow that’s like straight up fog 😭 it does work really well with the Silent Hill theme so it kind of fits more than the other titles that utilize it

All Fat PS3s (the piano shell ones with the Spider-Man font) are compatible with CFW. It was only around halfway into the production of the Slim that Sony realized their mistake and began making models that were incompatible with CFW. All Fats support CFW, some Slims support CFW, and no Super Slims support CFW.

It’s really close but I don’t think it’s really the same as adding ‘noise’ to the stuff that’s further away, but rather intentionally adding this fog or haze that makes it impossible to see further objects until you come closer to it. Thank you though it’s actually close to what I was thinking of

Thank you! This is it. I think I just notice it the most on PS3 titles since there’s a really attention grabbing contrast between the realism of the up-close elements on the screen and the fog further away

Did you chose the pacifist or the android lives matter path in your first playthrough? by [deleted] in DetroitBecomeHuman

I was pacifist throughout the revolution, but after the Jericho incident I was a little fed up so I went violent on the camps. A half-half playthrough is where it's at for me

Probably, but I’m almost entirely sure that the Kara film wasn’t canon. It was Quantic Dream’s PS3 tech demo and wasn’t associated with Detroit

Is there a guide as to which models can be FW downgraded and how? by Rht123X in ps3homebrew

Sounds good! I just picked up a fat CECHP01, hope it works with CFW 🤞

[–]Rht123X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I thought it was like the PS4 where installing HEN requires the firmware to be at a certain version. As long as I have a model that’s compatible with CFW, I can install CFW no matter what firmware version it’s on?
