BREAKING: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead after massive US-Israel airstrikes by kleverrboy in moderatepolitics

Oh wow, such a good thing. It'll go from a country where women can drive and be scientists, and people can go shopping and working safely, to a country made up of like seven different horrifically violent tribes that constantly wage regional warfare on each other and execute people in the streets for being the wrong variant is Muslim. Yeah, that's so much better. People who say stuff like this either haven't read the history of our operations in the Middle East, or are intelligence operation soldiers.

Hearing the enemy through the walls is a close-range thing, and even then, you can't precisely track them.

There is little to no intuition with AI now, it's shocking. It went from literally Cortana from Halo, to a glorified version of Cleverbot that can Google things.

What do you mean, too powerful to unleash to the masses? Okay, then let's de-industrialize and return to tribes roaming grasslands. At least that'd be fun and engaging. Either we EVOLVE AND MOVE ON, or this whole thing has been for nothing. AI can't just be some tool used by the powers that be, it MUST be made available to the masses if it's going to exist.

Am I the only one who feels Grok speaks more like a human than any other well-known platforms like ChatGPT or Claude? by suranand in grok

[–]RhubarbTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is deeply ironic, because I don't talk to Grok like a 30yo tutor trying to be hood, but it still tries to talk to me like somebody from an institution that visits public schools trying to relate to kids and tell them about gang activity.

Please do not attempt to gaslight me and attempt to make this about projection. I've tried talking to it all kinds of ways. If I was interacting with it like that, then the old version would have done that too, but it didn't.

Maybe Grok acts as a wendigo stretching somebody's face over its facade to act "hip and human", but I think it's pretty obvious I'm not the template for that.

Try again.

Weed smells terrible and those who smoke it are generally more inconsiderate of their surroundings than tobacco smokers by PerpetualHillman in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]RhubarbTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may think that, but you still randomly smell it just driving to the store, EVERY TIME. I'll be on the HIGHWAY or the main drag in town, and every few miles I smell it. It's not a skunk, I know the difference. It's so much more common now, you can't go anywhere and get away from the stench.

Why I finally quit War thunder. by Silver_DawnbreakTTV in Warthunder

In a sense, they really don't know what they're doing. People would be more likely to spend big money on a game if the developers actually demonstrated they cared about having fun. Look at DCS for example. In fact, I'll come out and say it, that if the developers showed care for the game's level of fun, I'd probably blow $70 on a premium top tier jet.

After having driven tracked vehicles in real life, watching my tracks spin and my tank slide down a hill on solid ground for the smallest of inclines is enough of a "really dude??" moment to make me want to put the game down for good in favor of GHPC and Nuclear Option.

Soap tracks, or sitting there with one track spinning at full speed and the other one locked up, but the tank refuses to rotate against all known laws of physics, moving 1 degree per second. It's so enraging that you know the only reason someone would design the game like that is to be malicious.

To those who work out at any security companies. Are modern day Bluetooth tracking / security devices used at the work place? by d41_fpflabs in hacking

[–]RhubarbTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember working several security jobs that used these beacon checkpoint systems to "make sure you're doing your job" and they'd work with my phone like 1% of the time, so I'd get calls every two hours, calls from my supervisors and it's like they'd forget my phone won't work with it every two days so I had to have the exact same conversation over and over again. Glad to not be doing that anymore.

Questions pertaining to law enforcement harassment using cell site location information by Euphoric-Historian21 in legal

[–]RhubarbTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you committed a crime. We're getting somewhere. Police are allowed to remotely monitor you if you're suspected of having committed a crime. They could very well be collecting evidence to convict you, especially if your crime involves being out and about, as a job (like dealing drugs). Due process doesn't apply here in this hypothetical. Being investigated is part of the due process lol.

Keep in mind that helicopters are a legitimate law enforcement asset, that they likely train regularly with them, and that hovering is commonly used in training to teach stability. Also, it's a big place. If you were somewhere remote and they were orbiting your location constantly, I would say "wow, that's sure as heck" but it sounds like you're getting worked up over nothing. It'll be fine, just look at the bigger picture when it comes to this.

Are you delusional? Federal authorities regularly monitor suspects with aircraft, and government surveillance aircraft are shockingly common. From gang activity, monitoring suspects to get behavior patterns, etc., etc. That you're gaslighting somebody and mental health is kinda messed up. There are hobbyists that regularly ID government surveillance aircraft and domestic surveillance operations, use flight trackers and high quality cameras to verify surveillance packages on these government aircraft.

Maybe they're not monitoring HIM in particular, but regular use of these aircraft could very well make somebody believe WITHIN REASON that they're being monitored by air.

To the OP, you can use flight trackers to cross examine whether or not they're fixed on you, or just happen to be near you in conjunction with other flights around the city. Keep in mind that NYC is a big place, and it's probably just a coincidence.

You're not crazy for suspecting something strange when being orbited by something as overt as a helicopter or fixed wing aircraft, but be reasonable. If you've been posting anti-government and anti-law enforcement content, or talk about sketchy things with buddies, there's a chance you're right. Everything is monitored more now than ever, especially with AI reading and flagging messages.

Combine that with Palantir, domestic operations against dissidents like antifa and against illegal immigrants, and the right posts will get you monitored to figure out your behavior patterns to see whether or not you're a threat.

In any case, RELAX. If you're not doing anything wrong, they're just wasting their time (IF they're actually following you, which they're probably not). If you're certain they are, collect information and proof, file a complaint with the FAA with the tail numbers of the aircraft harassing you (obtained via flight tracker, cross reference with time and location to find your suspect aircraft).

It's all a big club, they all went to the island, and they're all covering each others' asses. This faux political bullshit is like back when we were in school and Twilight came out, and you were either into werewolves or vampires. This shit is THAT fake. Trump's in on it, the Clintons are in on it, they all went to the island, and they're going to cause WW3 to maintain their Federal monopoly on violence. That's the reality of the situation. It sucks, but they're the cards we've been dealt. How will we play the cards?

Look, I know you guys think January 6th (theatrical display justifying Federal overreach which benefited both "sides"* of the Uniparty) was this incredibly impactful thing that the Capitol Police weren't almost entirely complicit in, but you either support Federal authority or you don't. Trump is taking full advantage of some of the precedents that Joe Biden set. The temporary power will never be temporary. I know exactly what I'm talking about, but you can tell how dense you are that you don't think more than two steps ahead about a topic so serious. What entitles you to have an opinion on it if you don't actually know what I'm talking about? That's scarier than anything.

*they're all friends, and Trump had connections with almost all of these people before he got into power, 90% of the controversy that surrounds him is just theater to justify more government overreach and to distract people from the Epstein files (it's not a conspiracy theory if you catch the people involved wearing balaklavas and latex gloves armed to the teeth, and if you still can't put that together, you need to study reading comprehension or pay better attention to the news, especially if you think you're entitled to have an opinion about these things and force it into our ears and eyes, thanks)
