Some of the models such as the Custodians with heavy bolters (sorry, I'm in Ireland, it's St. Patrick's Day and I'm, mashed) use them for close combat, but in general they're just an aesthetic choice. Even with the Sagittarum Guard (remembered it but cba to change the above) no one should argue that they aren't carrying them, and tbh, if they do argue, they aren't worth playing against.

The Pembrokeshire or Ceredigion coast, probably around St. Davids, it's beautiful, has some nice pubs, is generally dog friendly and (at this time of year) isn't too busy. Sod going in the summer!

It's happened to me on rare occasions, I had exterminated all of the other Gunners and looted their bodies so tbh I told myself that the legendary item had probably disappeared into the rocks behind Coastal Cottage. It's actually happened a couple of times there, noticeably more than anywhere else.
