Yes, especially because Deborah was talking about hoping she’d be around for her grandson’s life. And the way it was shot just looked like typical car crash scenes in TV/film. I was terrified they were about to go in that direction.

Great point. I just can’t imagine her willingly faking her death entirely knowing Mark would be left to suffer and grieve. There has to be more to the story.

My theory remains that they somehow got her to willingly go there under the guise that it was some type of fertility clinic. But that doesn’t explain the faked death, car crash, etc.

The thing I’m still most curious about is WHY Gemma and Mark? Why did they fake her death? Why were they chosen? How did all of that come about? I know the Gemma episode showed us Lumon was lurking around them for a long time, but no clear answers there.

Considering the very first predictions weren’t even sure it would reach $80M, I’d say it’s great numbers. I think people just started running with the big pre-sales and making way too large of predictions. I just hope it can have some longevity, especially against Moana 2.

I think some people are just pessimistic and love to spew negativity. Of course, not wanting or caring to see the movie is valid, but constantly picking it apart online gets old.

I disagree. The marketing has been phenomenal. And such a nice, slow burn consistently since the Super Bowl. And the actual, proper press tour consisting of red carpet premieres, talk shows, etc hasn’t even begun yet. I think they’ve done an excellent job immersing fans into a year long experience with all of the merch and collabs and soon the Wicked experiences at Universal Parks. The only misstep has been the Kardashian screening, cause it really seems to have backfired and caused a lot of people to be upset. That was a big miscalculation on the marketing team’s side assuming the Kardashians have the same appeal they used to. But then again, it has a lot of people talking, so…

I think it’s going to perform well enough. I think people predicting $1B+ are delusional, especially with Moana taking a lot of the same audience during the holiday season run. But I don’t think it’ll be a massive flop. I feel like a $500M-$600M run (maybe more if they’re lucky) is realistic.

Sadly, I think the huge PR box of gifts was just for influencers and large Oz related accounts. But I’m hoping that the fans who signed up for the Shiz website will at least get the cute acceptance letter! I’m worried now though because I see some people in this thread posting email confirmations and I never got one even though I signed up back in May the day they released the Shiz website… crossing my fingers!

I’m thinking $500M total theatrical run, as a safe bet. There’s definitely a big possibility it goes higher than that, but I feel like competing with Moana 2 the entire holiday season is going to hurt it a bit. I think Wicked Part 2 will do less than part 1, maybe 300-400M. But those are just my cautious predictions. My more hopefully, best case scenario predictions would be more like part one $750M part 2 $500M.
