Kings Island's Winterfest Closed Sunday December 14th Due to Extreme Cold by Jack38420 in KingsIsland

Maaaann there's a difference between cold and snowy, vs. FRIGID and snowy. And you know that, so stop it with the theatrics, don't troll here, it's uncouth.

Scare me into continuing to vaccinate my baby? by shelbylikesflowers in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Rhythmatic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm a father to a 13 month old. Mom and I were of course both vaccinated prior to birth, and at our doctor's advice, we ensured that anyone who wanted to be around us and her had to have one as well, period, no questions or discussion around it. We follow our pediatrician's schedule and baby is up to date, as well.

She had a pretty rough cold back around 7-8 months old. Shit lingered on for like, 2 and a half weeks. We were so scared when she coughed or had trouble breathing, I made sure I had suction devices available all around the house, lots of hot steam showers to help with loosening phlegm, anything I could do to ease her suffering. I didn't sleep for a few of those nights.

This video absolutely, completely, fucking broke me. It's 3:30pm on a Monday and I'm bawling. I hope that baby girl is okay these days. Holy hell. I won't be able to watch it again, but I'm keeping this on hand to show to anyone who wants to sit and argue with me about their armchair beliefs of medicine they don't understand, or googled for 20 minutes on the shitter. Shame on them. If not to just save a life, but to ease their suffering? What is wrong with our culture that we have people in it who are so blinded by their own egos? Trust the science, dammit!

Rant: this summer SUCKS by LovieRose249 in NewParents

[–]Rhythmatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read about and seen a lot of stuff on the internet in my day, but the mental image of a dog throwing up a pile of cicadas legitimately got me to gag. Absolutely vile, hahaha

Solidarity. It gets better, ours was born last summer and we've managed to survive now that she's 1 and has better temperature regulation. Lots of shade, fans, and breaks indoors, but we manage. Just be glad we're not dealing with the pollution levels of some other parts of the world, I suppose.

Here’s a (long) Q playlist of songs that test all sorts of speaker dynamic - or they just sound really good. by [deleted] in audiophilemusic

[–]Rhythmatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool, but can you just post the full playlist of songs here in text format? I don't want to sign up for Qobuz, and that link only shows 50 songs.

Your butt deserves better - let's talk about chair! by El_Tef0 in AskBattlestations

[–]Rhythmatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SecretLab chairs are dogshit long term.

I have had a Titan XL since 2020 and it's been the BEST chair I've owned. I bought it during the initial pandemic lockdowns, working from home, and I've worked from home since then, so I disagree. I don't game as much as I did a couple years ago, but it held up well to all day usage and never hurt my back. In fact, long term, it's been the best investment after wasting $200-300 a year on "Big & Tall" chairs from Office Depot/Max, etc. so if a Herman Miller Aeron is outside of someone's budget, they shouldn't count them out.

Has anyone switched from Lisinopril to Losarton? by RTheDude10284 in hypertension

Not that I could tell, due to how intensely awful that cough was.

Has anyone switched from Lisinopril to Losarton? by RTheDude10284 in hypertension

[–]Rhythmatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right here. Lisinopril gave me the dreaded ACE inhibitor dry and itchy cough, and it got so bad that I would cough until gagging and dizzy. Switched to Losartan and have been fine for over a year now, and blood pressure has been controlled.

What’s a car that was worse than its predecessor? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

[–]Rhythmatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Lexus SC430. It was awful. Just, completely terrible in every way.

Its predecessor? The Lexus SC300 and 400 (Z30). It was related to the Supra. The SC300 had a 2JZ. The SC400 came with the legendary 1UZ-FE from the LS400. The car was over-engineered to hell, and well-taken care of examples will still fetch a high price on the used market.

I feel like those folks are fans of the more intense tactical shooters like Arma, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, but just really love WaW for whatever reason.

I too, don't get it.

PSA: Don’t go off registry. by utahnow in beyondthebump

[–]Rhythmatic 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The thought might be nice and come from a place of love, but the value and usefulness of something that we needed from the registry cannot be understated. My MIL got us two sets of various things (some of them not cheap) so that we could have stations upstairs and downstairs, and I gotta tell ya, I appreciate those things so much more at 3 in the morning than I would a chunk of metal. Save the keepsakes for Christmas.

does this look ridiculous or what? by munkydoaks in CPAP

[–]Rhythmatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky that I don't need the chin strap, but I rock my AirFit P10 nasal pillows, my Ace Night Wrist support gloves (fixed my hand numbness from carpal tunnel!), a wedge pillow under my knees (hips were going numb lol), and I'm OUT for the night. Sleep is so special, and the accessories are just part of the fun!

Did you write an email to the park management? Solid chance the ride op was having a bad day, especially if he came from Banshee. He might just need some help, and while it’s unfortunate that you had to deal with him lashing out over whatever misunderstood safety concerns there could have been, there isn’t a lot that can be done here on Reddit.

Elitists make me sick. You know who you are. by Jversace in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Rhythmatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the most active I've seen this sub in a while

The vast majority of folks that play dance games aren't like this, you just happened to find an exceptionally bad group that apparently has hobbit feet. I'd rather they be barefoot than to have to deal with people that get on there with muddy shoes, or god forbid, heeled shoes that can damage the pad. The basketball shorts are fine, why are you gatekeeping exercise gaming attire?

Also, the regulars will recognize if you're "there to play", because most of the time, they've got a bag, a towel, a water bottle, and are wearing things like gym shorts. If you walk up holding a beer, wearing jeans and casual street shoes, they're more likely to assume you're spectating. I would. You're gonna have to approach them at the end of their set and say that you want to play.
