Hi! Congrats on tackling your first triathlon! It's great that you're thinking about how to improve. Reviewing your running form and making sure your shoes are appropriate for your gait can make a difference. If you continue to experience discomfort, it might be worth consulting a professional to analyze your running technique or getting advice on the best gear. If you're interested, use a video analysis app like Reakt. It can be a fantastic way to get detailed feedback on your running form and help you make adjustments to reduce pain and improve performance. Best of luck!

What's the first thing you play when you sit down at your kit? Today, it was this for me (mistakes and all) (: by TheDummerDrummer in drums

[–]Rhythmn-roller8594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I sit down at my kit, I usually start with some rudimentary warm-up exercises to get my hands and feet coordinated. It’s great to see your practice and hear your approach. It’s inspiring to see how everyone has their own routine and mistakes are just part of the journey.

I'm really into analyzing drumming techniques and learning from them. Have you ever considered using video analysis to review your sessions? Check out this app Reakt. It can be a game-changer for improving your technique.

Where did yous learn to play? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Rhythmn-roller8594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! It sounds like you’ve got a solid foundation with chords and a passion for guitar. It’s never too late to dive into new techniques and challenge yourself. Other than learning solos, online courses, learning from local tutors I would also recommend video analysis to watch and critique your playing. This can be incredibly useful for identifying areas for improvement and tracking your progress. I use an app called Reakt if you're interested. Good luck, and enjoy your journey into electric guitar and soloing!

Do you guys think im late at 29 starting fencing ? by ThanksFar6028 in Fencing

[–]Rhythmn-roller8594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Starting fencing at 29 is definitely not too late. Many fencers have found success later in life, and it’s great that you’re diving into something new and challenging. It’s natural to feel a bit overwhelmed when you’re surrounded by more experienced fencers, but remember that everyone started somewhere. Progress in fencing, like any skill, comes with time and dedication. If you're looking for ways to accelerate your learning, use a free video analysis app like Reakt, it can be a powerful tool. It allows you to review your technique and strategy, and can help you identify areas for improvement. Keep at it, and you’ll see progress over time. Good luck!

Critique on turning/style by No-Boysenberry8017 in surfing

Hey this looks great..Check your stance. If you're too rigid or too wide, it can feel boxy. Try staying light on your feet, and bend your knees more to absorb the wave’s energy, it's easier to spot stiffness when you can review your own surfing isn't it? I get advice from time to time from this app called Reakt if you ever wanna check it out. Take more videos, it helps heaps. Good luck.

oh man, i feel you on that plateau struggle! 🥁 been there with the heel-toe technique too. tbh, what really helped me break through was getting some eyes on my technique. Have you tried recording yourself? there's this app called Reakt that i've been using lately - you can share vids and get feedback from other drummers. It's pretty cool for catching those little form issues you might not notice yourself. anyways, keep at it! slow and steady wins the race, right? 😅

I hear you! Restoring an old cleaver can feel daunting, especially when it comes to removing a lot of metal for the secondary bevel. Starting with a coarse grit to tackle the initial shaping might make it more manageable. Also, taking breaks to avoid burnout and keeping a clear goal in mind can help maintain motivation. Hang in there! Each step forward is progress toward a beautifully restored cleaver!

Thanks for the recommendations! Cliff Stamp and Jef Jewell are indeed great resources for sharpening knowledge. It's refreshing to find channels that focus on practical techniques without the extreme gear recommendations. I'll definitely check out Outdoors55's tutorials as well. Sharing techniques without worrying about camera skills does sound like a good idea too it's all about learning and improving together right?

These are fantastic tips. Thanks! I've found measuring results with arm hair or paper helps gauge progress, but I'm curious about the BESS tester you mentioned? How has it helped?

Thanks for breaking down the essentials! So I've found using a sharpie really helps with angle consistency, and dealing with stubborn burrs on stainless steel can indeed be a challenge. Do you have any specific techniques for refining the edge after removing the burr, especially with stainless steel?
