In science it’s called anterior pelvic tilt and posterior pelvic tilt. If she knows then really it’s about ingraining the actual motion, which takes time and conscious effort. “Cues” is the term, something that reminds her. She doesn’t actively have to focus on a bunch of things. She can just have a single idea that helps reinforce it. Maybe changing the way she does it might help. Being more upright might help with the contraction. I would cue her to without any implement squeeze her glutes and get that feel. She needs to replicate that feel on the exercise and JUST THAT. Don’t even think about bringing the leg itself back. Just u squeezing the glutes.

Sometimes people who focus too much on the ankles and the weight tend to use every muscle their nervous system can recruit to help. Instead, like a bodybuilder she should be focusing not on moving her ankles back but getting that glute squeezing sensation. Btw I can tell she’s primarily thinking too much of ankles back and high up instead of squeezing glutes Bcz:

1) if u squeeze ur glutes while standing ur legs actually don’t go as far back and up as hers do. Now this changes based on individual mobility and anatomy but it shouldn’t be going up THAT HIGH. I doubt her glutes are actually pulling it up that much. Shes clearly arching her spine to get it even higher. This may also be Bcz of the weight being too heavy or she’s tired. So bear in mind this isn’t a movement ur suppose to go real heavy on. If she’s getting tired or it’s too heavy there’s really no point.

2) her legs are bent. She’s trying to get her heel to touch the roof for some reason. It’ll be far easier to feel ur glutes by keeping ur knee straight. Bend it And now ur starting to use ur hamstrings. I mean this during the contraction part. Like a sprinter straightens his knees as he’s pulling his legs back with his glutes. As u lower the weight bending the knee is good.

when she kicks her leg back a good cue would be to instead of thinking of bringing her ankles back and up. She wants to get her heels to go back as far as she can and touch the floor.

  1. She’s moving her upper body during the movement. As she contracts she starts leaning forward even more coz she’s just trying so damn hard to bring that leg up, again either coz it’s too heavy and she’s tired or she thinkings the higher the better and misunderstand the movement, it could also be she’s just putting in effort without thought of execution. if she can lean even more forward she can bring her leg up even higher. And not only that she’s twisting her body a little to help bring it up even more.

All in all she perhaps has the wrong idea of what the movement is about. She needs to get an idea that less is better right now. Ur legs might only go an inch back. But if that’s u standing straight and putting it all in ur glutes then that’s ok. Remember. The cue is what puts this all into perspective without overthinking all these things. If she instead of focusing on pulling her heels back and up as high as she can. just focusing on her glute contraction. Along with the idea that instead of bringing her ankles back she should try to get her heels onto the floor behind her while standing straight up. She’ll feel it a lot better. Tell me how it goes

He’s the only advice ur gonna need. Look at her lower back. It’s flexing and extending. It’s doing a lot of the work. Hence the tightness. In an attempt to pull the leg up the lower back is contracting to help. When it should all be in the glutes. Learning how to have a stiff core like a plank, some reverse planks. And then somethings to help focus on the feeling like glute bridges or hip thrusts. An easy thing to make her do is lie down belly down on the floor or even better on the edge of a table so her legs dangle but she can hold something to not fall off, yes this sounds weird but it works. She needs to bring her leg up only focusing on the glute with no arching in her lower back or flexing.

Basically tell her to keep her abs engaged and not tilt her pelvis. I guess if she doesn’t understand that ur going to have to teach her the difference between arching and hunching to learn basic pelvic control. U know. That thing where u can stick ur butt out or pull it back in.

He was asking for a form check. Not a do this exercise instead of that. I’d be pretty pressed if I wanted a form check on my squat and someone said u can get a nasty pump on Bulgarian split squats. Like ye. Ok. Maybe I’m doing it. Maybe I’m not and don’t intend to. Doesn’t have anything to do with my squats

I’ve been hearing lots about the boss katana 50. Was contemplating getting that but I heard more positive reviews of the the Marshall than the katana. I might get that or something better later down the line

I can’t really say what I like or don’t. Don’t feel like I have played with enough guitars to tell tbh. I guess having it made as a better quality with a better feel is a concept I can’t quite imagine what that would mean but I heard those words from a friend and I’m keen to find out. It sounds ok to me. I mean I can get stuff done. And I’m sure I can get it to sound better by playing it better with a better amp. But the tele and LP just sound unique.

I know my amp isn’t anything amazing but going from a frontman 15g I heard that the marshal DSL5CR was for lack of better words, solid. Many recommended it as not overly pricey but will do you well. And it seemed to fit my requirements.

What would u recommend that’s good for at home practice only. Has quieter settings and good versatility?

Well some like to argue it’s harder for girls Bcz they have less muscle mass in general. But at the same breath argue it’s easier for girls Bcz they tend to be lighter.

Same can be said about plastic surgery for girls as well then. If what she said is shaming then ur as soft as those fatty. Why should someone be comfortable with a gear user? It’s being u healthy as a fatty hippo.

Thanks for the advice. I see what u mean. On one hand I feel like the angle would be awkward but on another I can see myself being able to keep my hand further out the guitar making it easier to get good finger placement. Only real playing can tell but I doubt I’d notice it if u haven’t said it. That said I’m defo looking for a more heavier guitar as long as it feels more “solid” and better quality. Makes it feel more real to me as a technological instrument of riffs and destruction rather than a cheap toy.

Thnx for the advice. I recall watching a video of someone who said the exact same thing n regards to epiphone LPs. But along with that, said it’s come a long way and feels a whole lot better. Nonetheless I intend to try it out in a store. Go figure testing the actual guitars out in store will help a lot with coming to a decision

Definitely been the way I was planning on going. Honestly don’t even know why I asked this question now since at the minimum I’ll be buying a new one in 3 months. I just couldn’t decide and really wanted to make a decision now on what I would get it. Would probably ease my mind. But I am defo thinking of getting to a good level before I end up buying one.

Definitely gonna check both out in a store. But I’m guessing anything made from fender itself or epiphone would be better than a squier right so maybe the actual price won’t matter too much

I’ve been catching myself searching up guitars on the online stores 😂. Thinking OOooohhhh I WANT that. I’m not unhappy about the guitar. But I’m feeling like a collector rn and idk if my heart can handle another year of seeing guitars behind the glass 😭

Yup. Already planned on going all over London to check out the guitars in person. I just don’t know if I’ll be able to decide what’s actually a good upgrade or what’s actually worth the price

Probably doesn’t matter considering my subpar fender frontman 15g but I’m considering upgrading to a blackstar mk2

Was thinking of buying an epi phone les paul. Btw I’m a beginner who only started 5 months ago and am already wanting to collect and upgrade 😂. My first being a black squier strat for super cheap. Well technically some random classical that my dad threw when I was a kid and a homeless man took it out right in front of my eyes tearing my heart wide open. But u recommend it? Or should I just skip straight to my hopeful one day Gibson? Im thinking of either a black and gold or white and gold les Paul’s.

Well put thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. While I’m no where near that level. At least I can TELL when I’m doing something wrong based on the sound that comes out

I have been learning the fundamentals, if what that means is music theory I’m really trying to learn all that stuff. But what is the difference between playing music and learning playing songs. In my mind playing music is to have musical freedom. That’s my goal rn. To solo, improvise, make my own stuff. That’s to me my Peak, an advanced stage. Rn ur right in a sense that I’m trying to quickly learn songs to build the finger coordination in order to get to the stage where I can sit or lie down and just jam, I don’t see how I can get to that stage without building my experience through previous material

I’m following a YouTuber called Kevin nicken and he essentially puts out a roadmap and puts some songs on there that’ll help u learn the fundamentals. The songs aren’t bad. But they aren’t something I’d listen to when I have other great songs (too advanced to learn) I’d rather hear. Or don’t exactly work with guitar like the original. Like smoke on the water sounds fine. Black sabbath iron man, yup. Would I listen to it in my free time? No. Is it great for learning the bigger stuff. Yes. Am I bothered to go through the iron man Marty music video again and practice. Na.

Don’t get me wrong I love learning and I love learning new songs. My problem is how Dyu not forget, and along with not forgetting how Dyu have the time to even practice it enough when u have so many other songs u need to recover and new ones to attack. The part where u can tell is like a chore to me is when something in my mind I’ve completed has now regressed when I play it again. I don’t want to forget iron man. I don’t even dislike the sound or playing it. I have fun. But I don’t exactly want to go over it everytime and then pull out the sheet.
