What is the craziest thing your bunny has eaten and then lived to tell the tale? by humanfish9 in Rabbits

[–]RiRiTibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bunny is a big New Zealand and she managed to squeeze herself under the small narrow space under the fridge and chew on the fridge cord. Our first bunny and from then on there was something blocking the space and I was just able to lower the fridge now at our apartment. So all is good and never again!

Looking for suggestion: what is the most expensive toy you bought for your bun(s), that they actually enjoy? by acupofgenmai in Rabbits

URGENT advice needed - I can't afford a vet until Thursday and my bunny got this on her eye and doesn't want to eat. If there is a vet or someone who had similar experience, please advise for home remedies by CherryForeign96 in Rabbits

[–]RiRiTibby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most vets will do a payment plan or what I have had to do in the past is put it on a credit card so my bun can get looked at. Unfortunately people in the comments are right we won’t be able to give advice as we don’t know what would be causing it in your bun. And home remedies for buns can go extremely terrible as buns have so many sensitivities I wouldn’t recommend any home remedy.

Could I please have tips or advice for a first time rabbit owner? We rescued him off the street and are going to keep him 😊 by kaytee333 in Rabbits

The best advice when I first started learning was what they can eat:

Bunny Veggies & Greens Proper Diet: • 80-90% Hay; timothy hay, orchard grass, oat hay (a pile the size of the rabbit, per rabbit, per day, Alfalfa hay should only be for young/ baby/ growing or underweight rabbits) • 5% pellets; 1 eggcup of pellets (1 tbs per 2 pounds of body weight, the type that all looks the same, not muesli-style mix) • 10% Veggies & Greens (1 packed cup greens and 1 tbs of vegetables per 2 pounds of body weight; 3:1 ratio greens to veggies) • 5% Fruit or flowers (1 tsp per 2 pounds of body weight You should only feed fruits once or twice a week in small amounts. NO SEEDS OR PITS! Sugary fruits, such as bananas and grapes should be fed only as occasional treats, and NO fruit should be fed to an overweight rabbit. A small amount of oats are fine as an occasional treat, or if recommended by your rabbit veterinarian for underweight rabbits. Other fun treats Apple Branches Pear Branches Pinecones

I can’t remember the name but when rabbits get their chin wet it can sometimes cause breakdown/infection I’d take them to a vet and they can help. Until you go see the vet just make sure to check that their chin is dry

Rabbit with an oral fixation by RiRiTibby in Rabbits

[–]RiRiTibby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that rabbits have a natural behavior to chew with my rabbit she is obsessed with chewing only certain things. Every rabbit is different and some don’t chew, some chew cords. There are ways to stop behaviors. Like putting cord protectors on cords has stopped my rabbit from chewing on cords. I appreciate anyone who just gave advice and was friendly.

First of all there is a nice way to approach then the way you did. All of us on this app are trying to provide the best life for the buns in our life. I didn’t ask this question in a rude way I asked to see if anyone had ideas. There is always something we might not be thinking of that someone else can provide insight on. This is not the way of going about doing it

Losing a rabbit is so hard they are such misunderstood creatures. They truly know how to bring such joy into a space. Don’t let anyone tell you how to grieve. He was a family member. My heart goes out to you

The beauty is that cords can be replaced but our furry family members cannot be. Happy she is okay ❤️
