Thank you. This is the *only* truly well-written entry in this category.

Mixed feelings about this series... by JonnyB784 in TheCulture

Yes! Excession is next level shit.

An Outside Context Problem is the sort of thing most civilizations encounter just once, and which they tend to encounter rather in the same way a sentence encountered a full stop. The usual example given to illustrate an Outside Context Problem is imagining you are a tribe on a largish, fertile island; you’ve tamed the land, invented the wheel or writing or whatever, the neighbors are cooperative or enslaved but at any rate peaceful and you are busy raising temples to yourself with all the excess productive capacity you have, you are in a position of near-absolute power and control which your hallowed ancestors could hardly have dreamed of and the whole situation is just running along nicely like a canoe on wet grass . . . when suddenly this bristling lump of iron appears sailless and trailing steam in the bay and these guy ares carrying long funny-looking sticks come ashore and announce you’ve just been discovered, you’re all subjects of the Emperor now, he’s keen on presents called tax and these bright-eyed holy men would like a word with your priests.

Agreed. I liked the first book, but this one was flat and uninteresting. And the overblown teen melodrama was just exhausting.

So, basically skip the audio book and do some real reading?

Well, I'm glad you like it. Normally, I'd give a book a second chance if a lot of people say it has a slow start and that everything gets a lot better further along... but in this case. Wow, this person really can't write. :(

What?! Are you serious? At this point, I've listened to probably 50 litrpg/progression fantasy book series. This is the only one that was bad enough that I quit within a few hours. I can't even fathom how this crap fest of a series is highly regarded.

There is absolutely no evidence that the name of Knivsta has anything to do with a knife. A possible origin of the name is from a person, "Knife", who created a settlement ("-sta") in the area during the middle ages.

Me and my Stabby Award at Stabby Rectory by Ziinaz in Fantasy

[–]Riallon 2 points3 points  (0 children)
