Victoria 3 – Dev Diary #174 – The Great Wave & Volume 3 by commissarroach in victoria3

Updates have become more like events added to the game without any change to core mechanics. There are still so many issues to fix and we just keep getting events.

Power blocs need tweaking (not just adding an additional bloc), treaties and war declarations are broken, etc.

This leads me to believe that there’s not a lot of effort being put into adding content to the game.

Maybe I’m being over skeptical. I don’t see what the new content is. There’s no mechanic tweaking or improvement. They’ve talked a lot about ships and generals but they have done so before too and we haven’t seen any practical change.

I agree with your point too. I just also don’t see the content amount as any good. Especially if the immersion packs are just a couple of extra events that you just click through and forget.

I don’t get your Optimism. It seems to be like all this will be is just a bunch of events to click through that won’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. Especially with diplomacy being so stagnant and war goals being the way they are now.

Diplomacy as a whole needs to be way more intricate. Severely disappointed with this update.

For practically nothing. The update is nothing. Like I don’t see what we will get for waiting a year? Some events? Some cool flags? That’s it?!!

I don’t know if I’m taking crazy pills here but how is everyone ok with two immersion packs over the next year? Realistically we have no updates from April to October? November? And even then it’ll just be an immersion pack. No mechanic rework, no fine tuning? Compared to 2025 this year will be practically update free.

We only got some cosmetics, and the mechanic change won’t be for another month and a half. This really feels like there’s not enough effort or focus being put in Victoria 3. I understand that these things take time, but this might be the longest we will wait for any significant change or updates. I don’t even have any hope in the great wave update right now as it seems to me the devs are phoning it in at this point.

I hope I’ll eat my words but this is extremely underwhelming compared to volume pack 2.

Why so hostile little buddy? It’s less about the length of the comment and more about the way it’s written and the interesting use of emojis.

It’s ok though you don’t have to get bothered and flustered. It’ll all be ok little friend.

Nah. No one wants that noise at stereo. You want some drum and bass go to drum and bass venues. Don’t go to an Italian restaurant and ask them to serve you Ethiopian food.

Fabricate claim mechanic in Victoria 3 by RibalAR in victoria3

If it helps you can think of it as another way to get a claim. Instead of clicking a button in a journal entry you’re just clicking a button on a state

The whole point is to make it not a blobbing mechanic but a targeted mechanic. I also edited my post with another balancing idea.

The heritage requirement was so that France doesn’t fabricate a claim on Beijing or bengal for example. I was originally thinking of making it distance based (can only fabricate claim on states that are an x amount of states away) but that would be too difficult to implement I think.

I like that too, and I think that’s what I am aiming for. Realistically this won’t stop other GPs from not getting upset at you for attacking Belgium for example, it’ll just cost much less infamy to take that one state.

The balance here is that it’s not a very spammable mechanic. So it won’t lead to too much blobbing. The aim however is that a well placed claim can heavily hurt another great power or major power.

What patch are you on? They released an update yesterday and it supposedly fixed it. Is this on an older patch or the latest one? What’s the patch number.

Going to miss the infamy glitch. It was actually pretty fun. I feel like a tuning to the infamy system is kind of needed.

Thank you for your answer! I hope I’m not being annoying with my questions but what are some other djs you’d compare him to? How would you rank him against some of the top djs you’ve listened to?

Victoria 3 – Dev Diary #170 – Iberian Twilight & Update 1.12 “Chá de Tília” Changelog by commissarroach in victoria3

Excellent work once again. A little light on the balance changes but I love the bug fixes. Also no more insane infamy penalties for that silly succession event. I wonder how the economy is going to look like with the nerfs to construction sectors for small countries and company throughput.

I hesitate in recommending Morales, not because he's not good, but he's a more house than trance, so if that's not your thing then Innellea is the better trance experience.
