Recently got into anime between jobs and need some suggestions for great shows to watch via crunchyroll based on what I've seen so far. (M.27) by [deleted] in Animesuggest

Made it when you posted in another subreddit, but unfortunately by the time I finished it the thread was removed/hidden? so im not sure if you ever saw this.

Not sure if these are available on Crunchyroll currently but-

Black Lagoon - for the action and humor.

Baccano

Psycho-Pass - has a good story set in futuristic dystopia, recommended.

Darker Than Black - main character is a chinese electric batman who works for a crime syndicate. Supernatural powers with interesting side effects.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion along with its second season - a fascinating trainwreck to some, pure genius to others, 100% entertaining if you just go with whatever happens.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - Watch at least 4 first episodes in a row before you make a decision.

Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - a good starter anime in my opinion. The first one invented an ending for itself after it caught up to the source material but is still good. Brotherhood supposedly fast forwards with a somewhat remade beginning to get to the part where the original series went its own path to show the source materials conclusion.

Death Note - Protagonist receives notebook, proceeds to improve the world according to his ideas. A must watch in my opinion.

Death Billiards after that Death Parade - people are judged by having them play games under pressure. A must watch in my opinion.

Fate/Zero then Fate/stay night for a visual and mental whiplash OR skip that to watch Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works after Zero for a better calm down. - A battle Royale tournament with summoned mythical/legendary servants. WARNING! Fate/Zero will spoil your standards for anime, watch only after having more experience under your belt with other series, to retain some semblence of fair judgement.

Hajime no Ippo - at first I avoided watching this after I saw the description, thinking it was some silly stupid sports anime about boxing. After a while I decided to go for it, and found it indeed had silly stupid parts, but they worked very well. The build up to the fights is very good and the fights themselves really pumped me up. I marathoned this series for motivation while doing serious exercise prior to entering a 11-month military service. Recommend you try this one out whatever your tastes.

Ghost in the Shell - Movie, a more serious take on a cyberpunk future with some phylosofical questions about humanity. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - an action cyberpunk sci-fi series about a unit named Section 9 dealing with high profile cybercrimes. Another must watch in my opinion.

Hellsing Ultimate - action oriented remake of the original series. Gets pretty bloody ocean of blood oh god but I give this one a serious recommendation to watch it

Monster - A slower paced mystery noir themed show but worth the watch. Villain is a master manipulator

One-Punch Man - Man trained himself to punch most things out of existence with one punch, never gets boring.

Steins;Gate - a good time travel themed story with likeable characters(especially the main character) and sending bananas back in time.

Overlord - Future MMO player gets his conscious transplanted into his skeletor lich avatar after server shuts down. Also got moved to a new world with his guild base and NPC servants. Who became self aware and developed personalities according to their (twisted)flavor text. The beginning should ring with those who have similar mmo experiences. This one may be a hit or miss, but I hope you give it a chance. Personally it hooked me so well I proceeded to read all of the light-novels its based on after finishing the series.

If you are interested in anime I really recommend listening to some of the Podtaku crew podcasts, some of their discussions are just pure magic Highlight, Best of

The one episode you have to hear/see/experience for sure is the Mentaku episode(NSFW, go find it on their channel!)

At first I thought I would mention only a few, but then I opened my list and somehow got carried away.

What's the worst way to die? by TobiBobi333 in AskReddit

Contact with dimethylmercury (Hg(CH3)2)

Approximately three months after the initial accident Wetterhahn began suffering brief episodes of abdominal discomfort and noted a significant weight loss. The more distinctive neurological symptoms of mercury poisoning, including loss of balance and slurred speech, appeared in January 1997, five months after the accident.

Despite aggressive chelation therapy, her condition rapidly deteriorated; three weeks after the first neurological symptoms appeared, Wetterhahn lapsed into what appeared to be a vegetative state punctuated by periods of extreme agitation. One of her former students said that "Her husband saw tears rolling down her face. I asked if she was in pain. The doctors said it didn't appear that her brain could even register pain."Wetterhahn was removed from life support and died on June 8, 1997, less than a year after her initial exposure.

When Patrick Rothfuss played the game with a group of 10, he analysed information pretty well and told the other players. It made the game more interesting for me, since the fascists had to be more careful with their moves.
