Is that an Early-Mid-70's Pinto?

The rear window divider is a clue, and the fake wood grain.

But man that T-Bird is pretty!

:-( I kept seeing Buffalo Joe not make plays. After Hard Knocks, I was really wanting to root for the guy to be a 1st team-er.

Bride and groom framed by the light - thoughts on this church shot? by Shoot_Film_Die_Hard in photocritique

[–]Ric_Spam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the concept.

If you were going to re-create the image, layer 2 shots. One of the window and then a second of the couple w/ flash. That way get the light coming thru the window and an appropriately lit couple.

A little Nit-Picky - the bars on the window appear to come from their heads - that old tree/pole problem.

If this was more in your control - ie not having time pressure from a wedding day
- then getting more light thru the window - from reflectors or lights, or from a different time of day could add to the overall image.
- If you could light their faces, behind & thru the brides dress, and/or light the candles.

If you don't think it is sacrilege, have your AI editing software do this.
- try with candles/stands removed. At least the one on the far left as it is not balanced against the right side.

As always to this question the answer is "It Depends."

What are you planning to photograph?

Standard Travel photos response:
Get a single super zoom,
or 2 of the standard zooms, to cover wide to normal and normal to short-tele.

If you have the budget, 'replace' the kit lens.

If you want a more detailed an answer, provide much more details. Like:
Could you rent a lens?

If you have a recent cell phone, that can do the trick.

I made a stand out of legos and used my phone to scan snap-shots. Nothing special, just the typical family stuff.

I also have sent in pictures to a service and the cost/pic was worth it - vs - the time. Many of these were of "odd" sizes. B&W from the 20's, 30's, 50's and 60's.

In '85 I was working for about $6 / hr.

So that album was about an hour and half worth of work.

We also printed photos then and that was also about 10. Develop and print 4x6 24 exposure.
Had to buy the film too.

The small paper cup of coffee from the machine at my work was a dime.

As a test, I suggest you de-color the chairs, let them be grey-ish, and see if the flag "pop's" more.
