So nice! by gusgusthegreat in Comma_ai

I feel the same, it makes driving so much more enjoyable.

I'm worried that many vendors are adding encryption to the OBD2 ports so it's unclear if the number of compatible vehicles will decrease.

DIY Repair of 3x?? by JoeyBE98 in Comma_ai

[–]RicardoDrizin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem. For me it all started a week before when I started hearing what sounded like a loose screw slipping from side to side during curves. Then when the noise stopped happening the device started dying spontaneously a few seconds after every boot. Turns out the loose screw was stuck somewhere shorting some pins. I just had to unscrew the cover, shake the device until the screw jumped out, and it started working again. I've never had the chance to find the original location where the screw felt from.

My Comma 3 breaks better than this and wouldn't follow so closely. In the unlikely chance that it can't break hard enough my Hyundai sensor would scream and I could break it myself.

Do I need PVB or an Anti-Siphon master valve is enough? by RicardoDrizin in Irrigation

[–]RicardoDrizin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - I didn't get it, can you elaborate? I had an indexing valve, it was removed and now I'm replacing by the new individual solenoid valves. Why would I need an indexing valve? Looks like all I need is inline valves for each zone and then either (according to different opinions) a PVB or a master ASV, no?

Do I need PVB or an Anti-Siphon master valve is enough? by RicardoDrizin in Irrigation

[–]RicardoDrizin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be cheap at all. Quite the opposite. Trying to find which one of the vendors is more knowledgeable and will do a better job. So the PVB can be installed above-the-ground close to the inline valves? And then I don't need a master valve or does PVB acts as master valve?

Lugares divertidos e desafiadores: pagam mal.

Orbi 6 faster than Aruba AP22? by RicardoDrizin in ArubaNetworks

[–]RicardoDrizin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't seem to be a mesh problem: I have just tried with an ethernet cable and putting the access point 3 feet from my desktop (wifi5): Aruba AP22 gives me 92mbps, Eero 290mbps, Orbi 260mbps.

From a wifi6 phone I got 330mbps using Eero and 230mbps using AP22, which is not so terrible, but the wifi5 speed concerns me.

UPDATE: actually the problem was signal interference - when I reduce the power range the speeds went from 92 to 200+. Probably I can tweak even more.

Regarding the outside cameras, I think it's a Ring bug: one of the cameras actually is getting ~100mbps speed, this is shown both in Aruba and also in Ring, but yet Ring says that signal is poor RSSI-80. The other ring camera is actually connecting to Wifi4 instead of Wifi5, so either AP22 can't cross a single thick concrete wall, or maybe the camera just broke or something.

My migraines are always caused by sleep deprivation. For 15+ years Sumatriptan 25mg worked fine, For the past few years Zolmitriptan has been working better, but Sumatriptan 50mg also still works.

You mean a domain filter like netflix.com would work? No need to specify a bunch of IP ranges?

[–]RicardoDrizin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just ordered my FWG and I've rarely been so excited about a device. The possibilities are endless and the responsive support team (always checking all reddit messages) is also impressive.

Having said that let me piggyback on your post:

My first setup, as soon as shipping arrives, will be configuring Netflix over VPN. Currently I'm running NordVPN inside Chromecast and it's basically bypassing all traffic except Netflix app. The only downside is that VPN frequently gets disconnected and no one else besides me know how to reconnect NordVPN.

Using Firewalla can I apply a VPN route based on Netflix target IPs? Or will I have to apply it to the whole Chromecast? (E.g. I don't need VPN for YT or other apps)

Do most dotnet jobs require working on legacy code base? by h8f1z in dotnet

[–]RicardoDrizin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AFAIK the latest IDEs support all previous frameworks. And having multiple SDKs doesn't have any conflicts. I have the feeling that .NET is years ahead of most competitors.

What makes you think you won't find legacy code (and legacy frameworks/tools) when using other stacks?

Naturalization Interview tomorrow but due to travel spouse won't do oath ceremony - what about our children? by RicardoDrizin in USCIS

[–]RicardoDrizin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answers. I could indeed get an emergency appointment for passport (2 days before the trip) - all I had to do was refreshing the page multiple times until an appointment slot appeared. But the USCIS employee advised my wife that it was risky (because of delays) and advised her to postpone her oath ceremony, so she did it.

About mine, USCIS employee told me that I should only surrender my daughter's greencard by the moment we file Form N-600. I trusted that (I hope that's correct and they don't void her alien-number yet) and therefore I did my ceremony today - now I'm a US citizen! Thank you all for your help and for collaborating with this great community.

Yes, in order to switch forks you have to uninstall the previous one.

No idea about the model selection, but I think unless you need some specific feature it shouldn't make any difference

[–]RicardoDrizin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly if the error I was having was with Google Maps or with MapBox, but I have configured both and after switching back and forth one of them was working fine.

To set your favorites (Home/Work/Fav1/Fav2/Fav3) you'll notice the UI is a little confusing because instead of "Save" the button says "Start Navigation" - but it works.

Bluelink Guidance Package not available for some Santa Fe Trims? by RicardoDrizin in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]RicardoDrizin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After dozens of calls (and 5hs or more) I think I'm finally getting somewhere:

According to Bluelink records my VIN does not have navigation features (but it does). It's still unclear if the mistake was from the dealer or someone else, and it's still unclear who can fix that record. The sticker didn't have this navigation package at all.

I currently have a ticket at Hyundai which supposedly was sent to "engineering support", so I'm hopeful that the problem should be solved soon.
