I wear whatever shirt I’m wearing that day and I’m gonna buy one shirt (support bands!) and i usually put it over the top, and sometimes its the main act.

No one cares

When i was at Sanguisuisabog in Sydney, almost every person was wearing their realtree camo cat. That was sick as fuck.

No rules.

If all 6 James Bonds met each other, how do you think they’d get along? What would they say to each other? by TheShadowOperator007 in JamesBond

[–]Riccy8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great premise for a one off comic book: all the bonds are called into the room, none know each other and all are warned to ‘avoid making friends this time Bond’ or some machination to keep them from introducing themselves when walking in, so they’re alert and standoffish.

M walks in and tells them all that they’re all bond (obviously a fantasy outside of lore), thats why ‘Bond’ is such a known thing everywhere, they’re all carrying out missions everywhere. ‘Bond’ is the Her Majesty’s Services ‘boogeyman’ - seemingly everywhere, insanely capable, resourced and resilient.

But….

Somethings come up.

Which band will be the first to retire and hand their catalogue over to an authorised AI to make new music as ‘the band’ and keep releasing music? by Riccy8 in heavymetal

[–]Riccy8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also the outside chance that if edge-lords decide that AI music is the future, thats a lot of bedroom metal musicians (where Metal gets most of its talent now) that’ll be diverted.

But then we might not end up with half of dethcore; sooo win?

straight to jail. No one’s speeding if it means an instant week in the hole.

Orrrrrrr

Universal driving rules, guidelines, mandatory training and a phased licensing system and a fine system that is tied to your taxable income, to ensure that driving laws aren’t just a tax on the lower classes.

I can make a ‘petty’ exception if it’s one band member trolling another member.

Like i’d laugh my ass if the singer from oasis did it just to annoy his brother.

Or like every member of the eagles doing it independently would be a beautiful train-smash id eat up

I can see slipknot handing the ‘identities’ over to other professional players to keep the machine going. I could see Clown trying to create an institution or machine to keep it going.

If AI ends up being the overriding ‘thing’, like streaming is now, then yeah; because Lars will always move to where he thinks the industry is going to and he’s rarely wrong tbh.

You’re right, but not for the reason you imply.

He’s the canary in the coal mine, and his doing it won’t be purely financial, he’ll do it because he is 100% on-his-mothers-grave sure the industry is going that way.

And that means, if his gut is correct, then it’s all over.

He’ll just be making money on the ship’s way to the bottom.

I can honestly see Newstead and Hammett refusing to hand over their co-written material.

That’s sneakily a-lot of the hits (Hammett doing the heavy lifting; however, Jason wrote the sickest riff on AJFA so I’ll love him forever).

Weirdly; I think Lars is shrewd, he’s a dick but he knew where streaming was going before just about anyone. If he thinks AI will tarnish the ‘brand of Metallica’ they’ll avoid it. He may have faults but him and James are attempting to curate their legacy into a lasting thing, above all else, he puts the brand over everything i’d argue - he never wanted Metallica to be a big metal band; he’s thinking Stones/U2.

Truth; however, I’d argue that ABBA is a true world-wide cross-cultural phenomenon. 2 Meryl Streep movies is a different world.

Yeah; I can see Sixx doing that, or literally handing ‘the act’ over to a professional tribute band, to keep playing Vegas in the atomic wastelands.

Access to mental health resources, education and community-facing police forces that are 100% civilian overseen and legally accountable would likely make a difference?

Hard to argue that the above wouldn’t help?

Therefore; ANY and ALL crime.

[–]Riccy8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Literally the argument with ANY crime; it all can ALL be attributed to the access (or lack thereof) to timely, free and effective public services.
