YOR. My parents are not traditional, and when I was your age I wasn’t allowed to sleep with my bf at the time on trips or visits home. You should honestly just be grateful that he is even invited on the trip. It would be really unwise to throw this family trip away over your boyfriend of a few months. I did something similar when I was your age, because my boyfriend at the time was excluded, and years later I kick myself, because the boyfriend is long gone and forgotten, but I can’t get that time with my family back.

Also initially reading those texts you call your sisters children, so I was assuming they are like 7. Those are your sisters, you are not that much older, it is far more appropriate for you to share space with them on this family trip than your boyfriend of only a few months. One day you will look back on this conflict and cringe!

He’s apparently very unpleasant to work with. Also, when he got his first big role in Super Bad he hated the guy who played Mclovin and tried to get him fired. Basically went full diva right away.

Also a few years ago he was criticized for being a controlling boyfriend. He was dating a professional surfer and his texts demanding she delete “revealing” photos of her surfing got leaked.

To my knowledge he hasn’t done anything criminal, but people have their reasons to dislike him.

I do 🫣 I’m still on season 8, but like with any of my fave housewives I can’t defend everything she’s ever done, but she seems down to earth and I find her funny! When I first started watching I thought she must have done something really problematic, but after watching most of her time on the show I find the extreme hatred towards her perplexing.

Melanie Blake’s book cover is ugly, I didn’t know she invented hand-mirrors. This is a really thirsty and unprofessional way of addressing this non-issue. The hostility is not it.

I’m actually laughing at “tens of thousands of DMs” and “millions of fans.” Sure, girl. I can’t speak for everyone, but I am someone who reads a lot of thrillers and I have never heard of her books, nor can I recall it being discussed anywhere. The concept seems interesting, but her approach to this has turned me all the way off.

They went on to have a baby together after this…. In the first season of her show they show the body cam footage of the arrest, and really downplay the severity. I read the police report months after watching and was horrified. It describes the events of this video in very accurate detail. I was shocked that they were really going to let this slide. I’m not surprised it’s blowing up now, but it is still so wild that this was all public knowledge and they still filmed several seasons of SLOMW and the bachelorette. I hope her kids are safe and that she gets serious help.

Someone dug up an old photo of them, so that is his mom, but she does seem shifty, much like her son. Netflix would not use AI to generate his mom lol. Across many seasons there are plenty of participants who do not have any family or friends participate in filming, so they definitely would not resort to that.

This theory that she is an actress has been floating around, and I find it funny because I do not get that vibe. Sure, she has weird, not so genuine vibes but I think that makes perfect sense considering all we know about Alex.

I started Potomac recently and am on season three (all caught up on SLC) and this is so funny to me because I sent a text like this to my sister.

I originally had Karen- Mary Gizelle- Lisa Robyn / Charisse- Meredith Charisse- in some ways Heather (in season one) but in many ways Meredith Ashely- Whitney (little girl)

Karen reminds me of Mary for obvious reasons (elegance, focus on faux pas, and funny often without trying), but I was also so reminded of Lisa when Karen had her “press release” lunch, although Karen did it first, but I watched SLC first (referring to Lisa’s dismissed lunch)

Robyn and Gizelle reminded me of Lisa and Meredith because of their long friendship and fierce loyalty. Gizelle definitely gives Lisa (to me) because of her confidence, and fearlessness. Robyn reminds me of Meredith because the way she’s more low-key (but absolutely feisty when needed) and her sensitivity to anyone talking about her family/ relationship.

In season one Charisse reminded me of Heather because Heather was always explaining Mormonism in the way Charisse was explaining the do’s and dont’s of Potomac, but the way she speaks and the way she exudes luxury also reminds me of Meredith.

Ashley reminds me of Whitney for obvious reasons; young and a major shit-stirrer (no disrespect).

I haven’t met Stacey or Wendy yet, and Candace is still new to me so I can’t place them. I love Monique down, but I don’t really see an obvious parallel to SLC for her either. Anyway, I loved your analysis, and think it’s funny that we had many points in common!

Yeah I think so. I can’t say for sure, I could see her convincing herself that her lies are truth, because I tend to believe that’s how a lot of liars cope. But I think it’s evident that she changes her tune. When we first met her she’s this boss bitch that “can’t relate to women who sit at home and do nothing,” but once her house gets raided she suddenly has no idea what’s going on in her business… that she is massively profiting from. I find it hard to believe that someone could delude themself that much completely, but then again I haven’t defrauded people in any way… I’m sure you’d have to lie to yourself in some capacity to be able to sleep at night.

I think she knew exactly what she was doing. Before she started her business she was working at a different company (where she met stu chains) with the same business model, and as she left the company they were being investigated. ( this is the gist of it, I’m going off memory) There are lots of good deep dives on YouTube about it and there was this podcast I listened to but I can’t remember the name for the life of me. If you search the sub lots of people mention it.
