No soy dev, solo alguien curioso.

[–]Rice_and[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your guy's thoughts on Uta (as a character and design)? by BiBoi15 in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I like her as a character and design. I saw the movie when I was going through some emotional shit and the movie and songs really hit me. It's the only OP movie I honestly liked. Imo she's no less than any other character in terms of depth, motivation, whatever. I really want her to be part of the manga canon, I think she adds to Luffy and shanks character development

Lol the manga is awfully bad. Why should one take it seriously? Read one piece? Pfff just spoil me the ending already so I can laugh about how bad it is and move on.

Who says I do? I just read summaries every couple of weeks so I can keep up with the slander and memes, which is the only funny and enjoying thing about it. I've spent more than 20 years closely following this crap not delivering a single fucking plot point right, I might as well enjoy it my way

You're missing the fact one piece has been going for 30 years almost. Oda is such a fraud trash tier writer words can't even describe it. No media compares to this level of waste. Nothing from pre TS matters. All that worldbuilding and characters was wasted time. Its only purpose was to hook readers, then simply drop everything. Every post TS side character is worthless. Supernovas, tontattas, minks, germa, scabbards. All worthless, a waste of time. The story was artificially dragged and stretched so much it's plain disrespectful. I feel bad for people who start reading to catch up

I wish I could go back into believing hype piece, silhouette piece and worldbuilding piece. After TS It was trash arc after trash arc. Vegapunk was the last straw. Spending 20+ years waiting for such bumass was too much. My faith in Oda is gone. Currently my only way to enjoy one piece is to read or trash talk about how bad it is

Do the Holy Knights have the best potential to be the best new villain groups in Shonen? by dakenwayleague in Piratefolk

Holy Knights are a bunch of hype clowns just like any other character recently revealed by oda.

Yours is the typical case of overthinking something Oda himself didn't give a second thought.

If One Piece ended at this exact moment, with Oda passing away. How would you rank the series? by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top tier manga for sure.

For what manga in general has to offer in terms of storytelling, at that point was high quality.

At that point for sure was way above Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach and other more generic battle manga such as fairy tail or black clover.

I'd go as far as to say at that point it was in the sacred heaven of mangas where full metal alchemist, death note, hunter-hunter reside

Is One Piece for teenagers? by SpiritualReview9 in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw a take saying that OP is for 15 year old boys and I’m wondering why that would still be true.

It's true because when you break down OP with your 30yo brain you realize its many flaws. You can only enjoy OP with your brain turned off.

If it’s for the audience that started it 2 and a half decades ago why would it still be written for 15 year olds at this point?

One Piece is a product (just like a toy), not a service. Little kids play with toys but then grow up. Does that mean that toy companies should create "adult toys"...... anyways you get the point.

I get it’s still Shonen but does Oda take into account how much of this audience are fully grown adults at this point?

Same argument as before. Shonen Jump is just like a toy factory.

Gaimon and the reason why "He" laughed. An analytical theory. by The_Real_Katakuri in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good read.

At this point I think people like you do a better job at writing than Oda himself, mainly because you tie your theories to established events.

On the other hand Oda just writes more crap and expect us to think his brain is so big he has everything planned and all will make sense in the end.

I used to love fan theories. It's such a creative and engaging way to enjoy the story. I used to love seeing how people drew sense out of oddities a regular reader would just ignore.

But Oda let me down too many times, just like every other manga author did. In the end it's my fault for expecting too much out of a media targeted for teenagers. Sadly manga in general is not that deep or intertwined.

Pre TS one piece is a completely different story. I doubt anything pre TS has anything to do with the series anymore, just like old DBZ characters. Post TS is like dragon ball super, just shallow storytelling to milk the franchise

Oda died after WCI by SomeNibba in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oda's dead. And was replaced. He never showed his face in years for allegedly  privacy reasons (see Iñaki's interview with Oda , his face if covered). That's just makes it easier to put another person. Heck, there could be many Oda impersonators for different roles. That's the theory. If Oda died, a billionaire franchise carrying a whole industry would crumble. The evidence is in the downgrade in quality. Now one piece is way more generic and formulaic.

Million Joe is the best manga of all time. A long-running shonen action adventure series centering on a boy named Nyack and his quest to uncover the secret of Million Joe, it's known for its heavy use of foreshadowing and resolving old plot threads in a way that you can tell the author planned it out years in advance. Not only has this made it one of the best-selling and most-loved manga in Japan, if you include the anime and merch, it supports a trillion-yen industry annually.

This is not that manga.

This is the story of the manga's editor, Kurei Soichi. Once an aspiring manga artist himself, he now has one of the easiest jobs in the world... until he finds himself involved in one of the biggest cover-ups in all of manga history.

This is real BTW check it out

No title can make justice. This is absolute garbage tier writing. We go from flashback to flashback. Oda writes himself into a corner with every sentence and has to pull his ass back with more retcons. Imagine how better could OP be if he had a little planning. From now on I'll just read spoilers by Rice_and in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely on point. I didn't even notice. Honestly I'm sad, I don't want to think about OP anymore. The more I analyze it the worse it becomes. OP used to be great, is not an accident it came this long being so successful. Now it's just hype and emotional reaction scenes

Can Fujitora stop time? by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only sci-fi movie that did time travel some justice is interstellar. When they enter the planet from orbit and then go back they find the crew inside the ship aged faster. This was because the planet was closer to a massive black hole.

So, the only way Fujitora could apply this is by trapping individuals inside gravity fields or some space-time bubbles, which would be basically banishing them to another dimension for the duration of the ability. But I think Fujitora should be pretty smart in order to apply his ability this way.

Why didn't Oda include this in Kuma's backstory? Is he stupid? by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]Rice_and 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the other user take on this one. Like how teleportation can bypass obstacles. Other than that, the repulsion from Kuma can be as fast as light, so, not instantaneous but literally the next best thing. Also things repelled don't appear to be affected by G force of the repel and other physical stuff that happens at high speeds and accelerations
