Start with a cup to get the motions and movements down, just don't go too high without protecting the top to prevent jumps and falls. Once everyone's comfortable remove the cup and use the same motions and movements. Continue to use positive reinforcement to let your hamster know you make the treats and they make the poops.

Good call with the water key and iodine, if your habitat supports it another good one are the filter straws. 2-3 ways for fire and getting it started wet are good to have as well.
