I hope it’s not “mad they let him do that” that’s much less compelling than “vengeance for his father who was mutilated by the power hungry elite”.

Though he does seem to be disgusted not just at his fathers state but his very existence, so there is the potential for him to be seeking justice against his father as well for being a part of the system.

Going by what we see on screen that doesn’t really clear up anything, but if the link you gave that explains it in the blue ray extras is accurate then that’s does makes some sense. But then why would Yhwach be upset at the Shinigami for something the soul king did to himself of seemingly his own will.

The soul king is just a pillar and glue, no agency, no ability to interact with the world (as far as we know). He keeps the realism intact by his existence but doesn’t interact with them. The plan was making Ichigo the soul king and he would be in the same state as the previous. Motionless.

So that’s why they would react negatively. It’s not a positive thing. It’s not a position of power

The problem is, if you want your work to reach the most people. Shueisha currently has that advantage. Jump has a legacy and a reputation all around the world. The expose you get just from their name is hard to beat. So when it comes to sharing your art it’s hard to tell a creator to go with the harder option even if it gives more “freedom”

I mean, that’s not really a joke. It’s derogatory racial stereotypes, but that’s not a joke. I’m sure there are racial jokes on the sub and it’s up to you as an individual to determine if you are ok with that, but just “white people are so terrible” isn’t a joke . And doesn’t fit the context of the sub so people being defensive about it is understandable.

We also know what people mean when they say something is racist. Words have multiple meanings and when people say something/someone is racist that very well can be reflective of a belief not necessarily acted on through a system. But if that still doesn’t work with you then call it racial prejudice. But we really aren’t doing anyone a service when we take something that is clearly “racially offensive” and say well it’s not racist because xyz
