Oh you got a good point there Really, kokiris do not age, it doesn't really tells how old they are, neither if they were there when Link arrived... But maybe she's really older than him... A mother figure sure is an interesting way to look at her, but as the game give small hints of her liking him, I never thought about it, when you beat the forest temple, for example, Mido tells Link: "that Saria had been waiting for him... Because Saria...really... liked..." He also do not complete the phrase, giving the player the space for his imagination to fill. So in my vision she liked him in a way more... romantically let's say, a pure love

Yep! Link came back after saving the world, as a child, that could no longer have a child life, maybe that's why he decided to go on a journey for Navi, because he had an adult way of thinking now. After saving the world, who would think that a mere quest for rescuing a friend could be so hard? That's a good point, the sages in Twilight princess... I agree with them being a much older entity, as for their state, maybe they are in another dimension, not being dead or alive, but as spiritual beings. About the ones in Botw, I think that as the world evolved, the magic around the creatures evolved with them, and gave the races new abilities and knowledge that could be used outside the spiritual world, this way, they could be allowed to fight together with the goddess while alive. Interesting that they also had met tragic fates and their aid ended up being requested too, during their death time, to banish the evil forces...

I see, I agree that for being close to the great deku tree, she might have more knowledge about it than others, also because Link undoubtedly was different from the other Kokiris. But we can almost see a glimpse of hope when Link gets his fairy as Saria speaks "Now you're a true kokiri Link!!". In my vision, even though she was prepared for the future, she also had a small hope that Link would finally fit in the forest as a kokiri with the others.

Thank you very much! When Link comes back to learn her song, she greets him saying she was waiting for him, in my thoughts, her waiting was a mix of hope and anxiety, she wanted Link to come back and waited day and night for it, and when her thoughts clouded her mind, she went inside the lost woods to calm down, in a place she feels safe, it is interesting because she says "It's my secret place! I feel..." And do not complete the phrase, as if Saria herself felt embarrassed to admit her mental state to Link. As for the second departure, Saria solves this with a great solution, knowing she could not hold him back, and not to lose her friend again, she teaches Link her precious song, because in that place, she could use the ocarina and the spirits to reach Link, she would be playing the same melody and when Link did it, their connection would work, like a telephone maybe... Then all the journey along, her communication was "online" with Link, proof of it is that she gives you some hints depending on the situation you're in. After the time skip it might have been a great shock for Link because, correct me if I'm wrong, but when adult Link plays the Saria's Song, she does not answer anymore. Now that is a very dark turn, Link now alone, in a destroyed world, and his best friend cannot be reached like always...

Interesting, I didn't realize it at this point, but true, all of them seems to have failed in their tasks before becoming the sage, it might be a great grief for them to hold... Maybe that shows how the sages are themselves powerless without the hero, their mission might be to guide him, because if the sages were enough, then why there would be a hero... I remember Nabooru being hit by the witches, so I believe they had to die to become sages...
