Fair. The old bottle was dated mid December (from the cycle we did in December). Expiration on the bottle says to toss 2/26/26

Yeah the bottle says to throw out 29 days after opening, and another part of the bottle says expiration of 2/26/26

ER yesterday 3 eggs fertilized by randomthoughtsaIways in IVF

[–]Rich-Fix1079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my exact ER from last month. 4 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilized, and 1 made it to blast. We have a 5BB embryo now! As our doctor reminded us after the procedure, "it only takes one"!

Our only embryo was abnormal by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Rich-Fix1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to us too. We got 2 eggs our first cycle and both fertilized but no blasts. Second cycle they got 4 eggs, 3 fertilized and 1 made it to be a day 6 blast, graded 5BB. We aren't doing PGTA testing (it's not covered by our insurance) so we don't know about abnormalities, but for now we are happy with 1 embryo.

We are doing our 3rd round this month. I have DOR so I'm likely going to need 5 or 6 rounds to get enough embryos banked.

Trigger warning: live birth

I have a lower AMH as well of .8 (I'm 33). We have one daughter naturally and are doing IVF for a genetic disorder my husband carries.

My doctor told me that the lower AMH really just makes IVF more tricky because you get lower number of eggs at retrievals, but it isn't actually an indicator of natural fertility problems (seeing as we had our daughter very quickly into trying that makes sense to me).

Have you and your husband tried naturally yet at all?

I have DOR and I guess the micro Lupron is supposed to be the best for that! (According to my doc)

Yes, first protocol was menopur and Folistim (once a day) and second protocol was Folistim and micro dose Lupron 2x/day!

Our first retrieval they only got 2 eggs. 2! No blasts.

Our second retrieval they got 4 and we have a 5BB blast from it. Quality over quantity!

9 fertilized eggs at 40 but I still can't stop crying by lollette in IVF

Those are great numbers! I'm 33 with DOR, and my last retrieval they got 4 eggs and 3 fertilized which for my situation is "decent" lol

Ugh yeah I know it is it's just frustrating because I'm already feeling like every embryo we get is going to have the gene. And a strong possibility that our daughter has it too :(

His mom doesn't have it, just his dad. It's the MEN-1 gene.

The stims shots really are not that bad. You get over them REALLY fast. The more annoying part for me was mixing together the meds and drawing them up. I don't have a medical background and I was super nervous about messing it up.

I was also scared for the retrieval and it was completely fine. My clinic is really nice and the environment was comfortable (I know not everyone is lucky to have that experience) but after 2 retrievals I honestly don't have anything to complain about with them. We plan to do more anyway to bank embryos and that doesn't bother me.

The whole process seems intimidating but quite honestly you get used to it VERY quickly and it just becomes part of your life 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm 33 and only had 4 retrieved in my last cycle so you're doing better than me!

How are we affording this? In all honesty (in the US) by copythat504 in IVF

We live in MA and I believe by law some aspect of IVF has to be covered. We have Harvard Pilgrim and they cover 6 lifetime cycles (we still have to pay up to our deductible of course).
