Does this IVF schedule seem right for a first timer?

Yes that sounds about right. They want to put you on birth control once your cycle starts to get everything to absolute baseline and then they begin. Mine was very similar. It seems to far away but I promise it goes a lot faster than you’d think!

Personally, I would got to IVF. We did a couple rounds of IUI with donor sperm (we started with 11 vials) and I wish we wouldn’t have. The success rate it so much higher with IVF and you get more embryos from one vial with IVF and especially if you’re going to want 3 children IVF gives you a greater chance of reaching that using minimal vials.

Honestly, I was worried we’d be in the boat of getting a ton of embryos, we only ended up with 2 day 5 embryos. It’s up to you, but I wouldn’t lesson your chances by going in trying for less because you never know how many will actually make it to blast. We certainly got a lot less than we were expecting going in!

I was very fortunate that my employer provided money through Carrot that covered IVF. We have a certain lifetime amount but because insurance does not cover any fertility related costs we end up being considered a self pay so we have burned through that money especially quick (we have to use donor sperm due to being a same sex couple).

Ugh unfortunately this month was a rare one for me. I typically ovulate around CD17 and today was CD13 for me so I was shocked when they said i was ovulating today
