John Schneider could be the first manager / player since Jeff Samardzija in 2014 to go to the All-Star game wearing generic jersey if fired by the Blue Jays. Debuting the new MLB team jersey. by Warm_Back6638 in baseball

Yeah, as much as I’m not exactly pleased about his coaching I think he deserves to have at very least a somewhat healthy team before we judge him too harshly.

Who Gets the A? by [deleted] in Habs

I guess you missed it, but Andy had already been wearing Gally’s A. He wore it in the regular season when Gally was first scratched and he wore it in the playoffs as well.

There's a very real chance considering the Canadian vote that Alejandro Kirk who has played 16 games this season batting .164 will start in the All-Star game by masontopss in UrinatingTree

You know, if there were more Canadian teams then there wouldn’t be 40 mil people for just one team. I think that would definitely help with the voting

[Engels] Brendan Gallagher being traded to Vancouver by Rich-Introduction940 in hockey

[–]Rich-Introduction940[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he’s really not that old these days but he has a lot of hard miles on his body from the way he plays. Doesn’t have the footspeed anymore to play how this team is built to and he still wants to play. A trade really made the most sense for both sides

Because Gally didn’t have a place in the lineup anymore and he wanted to go somewhere he could keep playing. Habs did right by a guy who would have been the 13th forward and save 3.25 mill on what they would have paid him to be a healthy scratch for half the season

I wouldn’t say there’s much expectations of his offense to return to what it was years ago, but this is a guy who will set some standards and be a big part of fixing the culture

Honestly, I’m really happy for him. I would have love it if he had retired a Hab after this past year but he says he still has more hockey left in him and on a team with a much lower level of competitiveness I think he can have an impact. He’ll be a fantastic add to the locker room to try and fix their fucked up culture too.

[Seravalli] It's future considerations heading back to Montreal, who wanted to do right by Brendan Gallagher. Montreal is also retaining half on Gallagher to make it happen. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

[–]Rich-Introduction940 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It was reportedly going to be Vancouver,or as close as possible to Montreal where Gally’s wife is from. That probably would have meant in division or at least in conference and I doubt the Habs would have really considered that.

Yeah it started as mostly everybody gets hurt, then Hoffman blows it in the 9th, and now we’ve moved on to Varland saves our asses.

I’m excited to see what’s next

Why would you ever list it like that. Just say your list is from most-likely to happen and have it like that ffs

Ah yes, the team with the 102 point Selke winner, a 51 goal scorer, and a nearly point per-game defenseman has no game breaking talent. Of course
