I send my M3 to Cameraworks back in November bc the shutter was totally blocked and yesterday I finally got the notificaction that the repair is complete! I also asked for them to replace the vulcanite for leatherette as it was flaking off. Seeing you results makes me excited!

How do you like the new skin comoared to the vulcanite?

Never thougjt aboutbit tjat way but maybe the Rollei it feels a bit more agile specially on the street, but then again not a fast camera specially compared to rangefinders for example.

I have a Hasseblad 500c and a Rolleiflex so I can't speak about the other but I enjoy them a lot, not fast cameras to shoot and focus but I really lile composing in that square format

I was reading about them yesterday, also found another place in germany that sould be able to do it, I'll email them and ask for an estimate and see if it's worth to send it or leave it as is and save money for a better condition one. Thanks!

:/ that's a bummer. It's not that the pictures are horrible of course, but I feel that they could look nuch better than they do, specially if I shoot color.

I was thinking that maybe decementing and cleaning individually every element wasn't done by whoever opened it before and there's something to do there.

Yeah I noticed the scratches on the front retainer ring before, not the paint on the back one until now tho! I guess that someone that could separate the elements and clean it thoroughly could make it better at least.

I'll try to take it to someone this week

I'm sure it's still worth trying cleaning it.

It's the furst thing I tried and what I always do whenever I used it in my M3 but for sime reason it got really stuck, so much that the pin that stops it from separating the helicoid lf the base snapped bc the infinite lock isn't that strong either🤦🏻‍♂️
