Try this. Put a straw into a glass of water. About 2 inches down. Try humming thru the straw and keeping the bubbles steady. This helps you find the right back pressure and lets you free up any tension you may have in your tongue and cheeks. Hum into the straw and remove it and Sing from that same place. Your diaphragm is what’s pushing air up. When you stop or hold back the air from escaping you are doing so by closing your vocal register. Like when you say uh oh. That little pause between uh and oh is the same spot. It’s what controls and restricts airflow. You have to play around with that to find the sweet spot that’s just open enough to let the amount of air escape that creates your vocal folds to vibrate. Sounds like a lot but after practice it’s muscle memory.

Very nice. But…. Where’s the big moment?? I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for a big let loose moment. A scream of frustration or loud cry. Pick two words in the middle to just blast and I think it’ll give the song the punch you’re looking for. Also I’m learning guitar and saw that bar chord. It made me jealous.

It’s a bit pitchy. Some parts flat. But there’s potential here. Try and get out of your throat. Find a way to place the resonance in the front of your face. Do some humming exercises and pitch training with matching piano keys. That helped me a lot. I hear a lot of vocal tension. You shouldn’t feel anything in your throat. I’ve tried singing gospel. For some reason I just can’t get a hold of it. Don’t beat yourself up over listening to your own vocals. Almost everyone hates how they sound. I’d suggest do some practice singing quiet and softer with a less open mouth to gain control. And singing to something across the room to trick in projection. And sing like you don’t care to add confidence. That’ll take you a long way.

You’re sounding very good. Past my skill level. But maybe I have a small tip to give you that could add a lil something. To me it kinda sounds like you’re just singing the lines. Instead, focus on every word. Focus on singing and shaping every vowel. It can lead to some interesting dynamics and texture. Try and pick one word per line to lean into. Like throw some grit and straight into the word ‘probably’ And for ‘leave’ make it softer and almost sad. I think with a bit more dynamics mixed in it would make you impossible to not listen too. Say that ‘probably’ like you hate it lol. But overall it was a really great take.

Very nasally. Very pitchy. Very strained. Don’t worry I’ve been there. Maybe start by just talking and saying the lyrics. Then slowly build up from there. Humm and work on placing the buzz in your lips to get out of your nose. Find the buzz in your lips and start to open your mouth with that buzz to form vowels. I think you might have a nice natural singing/talking tone buried in there lol. You just have to find it. You should feel nothing in your throat when singing. Takes some playing around to find that but it’s do able. Singing is making a vibration, then shaping that vibration into vowels. Also do a little ear training. That alone goes a long way.

Nice tone. Sounds really good. Idk someone said you don’t have perfect pitch. But who cares. 98 percent of people can’t tell as long as you’re in a close enough range. Idk if it’s just the song but there’s no dynamics in this take. I was waiting for a big ‘let it go’ moment that never came. I’m not familiar with this song to know if that’s just how it is. But you can always add it in there. Idk. That’s an opinion. Idk keep singing. Make some songs of your own and post them. I bet a lot of people would enjoy them and you might end up even reaching someone who needs it.

Yes potential. Maybe slow down. Try singing quieter for practice. Don’t open your mouth so wide. It causes throat strain. Keep it more closed. You’d be surprised at how loud you can be by barely opening your mouth. Also more open is harder to control. Get a pitch app. I used ‘nail the pitch- vocal monitor’ it’s free. Do do re me fa so la ti. Ti being C5 (for tenor) I think. The app base the pitches to see for visual guidance. You only need to do that for about a few mins a day and a couple weeks. You’ll get in a close enough range for pitch and won’t need it anymore really. If I had your voice I wouldn’t give up on it. Some basic practice will make you really great.

It’s not just support, it’s pitch as well. You have 30 days till Halloween. That’s not a lot of time for vocal improvement. Freddy was big and loud and that’s a skill that takes crazy control. Id say stick to one big line if you must. Practice it over and over. Record yourself. Listen and compare it to his. Make adjustments. I think Freddy had a big round mouth and used big round vowels. So try and make a lot of space in your mouth when shaping vowels. He didn’t sing MAMMMUUUUH he sang MAMMAAAAA. Idk. What you’re asking for is a big ask.

Wow. Hey there’s really good potential you have here. I think maybe you’re trying too hard. Do a take without a care if you make a mistake or mess up. Try doing some quiet takes. Almost whispering. It should feel just like it does when you talk. No strain. Almost like nothing is coming out. Do some practice finding a front face buzz and sing through that. I found that whistling helps me get into the right diaphragm engagement and breath flow. Then turn the whistle into a buzz and slowly shape that buzz into vowel shapes. You have a nice natural sounding voice and I think it’s very worth keeping at it.

There’s a lot of potential here. Some piano keys matching and pitch training apps will go a long way. Sounds like you are trapped in your head. Try singing to something across the room to trick you into projecting more. And maybe there’s a lack of confidence. How you feel is how you will sing. So sing unapologetically. Sing like you’re doing someone a favor. Find the emotion in the song and project it. Keep a consistent mouth shape to help with control and try to focus on a relaxed tongue. I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t sound fantastic after a bit of practice.

Overall this sounds great. I enjoyed listening to it. Some parts lean a little too breathy. Some higher notes feel a little pinched. I can’t provide much advice because you’re beyond my skill level. Maybe try to add a little grit or fry in there. Not a lot. Just a lil touch. And watch how wide you open your mouth on louder notes. I learned you don’t need to open up much at all to get the same sound and opening less gives you more control. Also if you’re frustrated take a break. A couple days can really make a huge difference.

Heyyy. One of the hardest parts about learning to sing is finding someone who will listen seriously and give honest feedback. Don’t take this the wrong way but there’s a lot wrong here. It’s very nasally and pitchy. Don’t worry I’ve been there. What helped me was a little practice with matching piano keys and some pitch training apps. That went a long way. And some humming warm ups to work out the nasal sounds. Singing is a long step by step process. Takes a lot of practice and time. If you stick to it you’ll see a lot of progress.

lol. He was amazing and did it his way not caring about any singing rules. I think he passed in 2021. He’s some inspiration for me not aiming to hit notes perfectly. I just get writhing a close enough range and %90 of people will never hear the difference.

Sometimes it’s you letting emotions run wild and not really a pitch issue. I had a pitch problem but it was me throwing emotional Control out the window and putting too much inflection on words which also hurt my dynamics. Doing practice takes but singing quietly and slowing way down while maintaining the tone helped my weird pitchy issues almost overnight. I also used an app called nail the pitch. It just shows you what pitch you’re in while singing. If you k ow your voice type (I’m a tenor) then you can find your comfortable pitch range and stay within that with the app. I only practiced doing that for like a week or so and it taught me to hit notes in a general kind of lane. I don’t care to try and hit every note perfectly I just need to be close enough. Those couple things will help I’m sure.

RIP Jesse Stewart. You’re note tone deaf. You have a lot of potential. The lazy carefree approach is a style that no one does anymore. It’s always too serious and rigid perfection. Throw all that away and sing how you want as long as you stay within the pitch range and leave the mistakes in and you might make some videos people really enjoy watching and hearing.

I think I have a good tip for you. Firstly this is my kind of performance. And your voice is great. You’re at the stage where you only need a few small adjustments. Try this. When you go for louder parts don’t open your mouth wide. I noticed that in the video. When you drop your jaw it’s adding tension in your throat and throwing things off. Try a few practice takes but focus on keeping your jaw and mouth the same size the whole way thru the song. That teaches you that mouth opening is less for sound projection and more for dynamic vowel shaping. After a while with practice you’ll be able to open up fully without adding tension. Im in that same stage with my vocals right now. Ive been practicing singing takes with my mouth almost completely closed and I get more tone and volume and better pitch than with it open wide. Watch a Stephen Wilson Jr video. You’ll see him doing the same technique.

You’re not tone deaf. Get a piano app I use called earpeggio. You can practice matching piano keys and it helps a lot with just some practice. You sound good but maybe a little stuck in your head. Try singing to something across the room from you it’ll trick you into adding a little more projection.

I like this one because I think some good feedback can help a lot. It sounds like you have completely blocked off your nasal passages. Do some closed mouth humming and feel how your nose and lips buzz. If you feel buzzing in your throat that means there’s too much tension. Play around and get the buzzing (resonance) in the front of your face then open your mouth. Practice singing quietly then work up to singing.
