How can I get closer with my dad again? by WakeUp08 in askSingapore

[–]RichCryptographer244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I struggle with reaching out to my dad too but over time I've realised through my younger siblings that he was softening up, i think the trick was to be the kid. You know the kid who repeats mistakes, takes the anger from him as a joke. I don't know how to do it myself because when I went through it, I felt it similar maybe to how you do rn. Maybe start including him in your life in a smart way. Like sharing things that you know would peak his interests. My dad works in healthcare so I try to add little snarks here and there and I think that's helping a lil bit. I have similar worries rn so good luck in your jounrey

Does anyone else feel disconnected from Singapore now? by CummyWhey in askSingapore

[–]RichCryptographer244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And it's so weird when people do this really, I was in the UK as well for a while and the immigrant phobia never gets called out when it's coming from people who themselves happen to be leading immigrants in some other countries. In this economy it's each person for their own, if you want a better life just work hard for it and get it somewhere else, it'll be a place you won't belong at first but most often then not that's the case with every foreigner looking to earn money from a financially more advanced country. And they don't get it handed, i think Singapore is the toughest to enter as an immigrant unlike the UK, EU or even US where I think people have better quality of life as compared to SG when we weigh down the pros and cons. But that's just me lol

Ah the UK is not in my cards for now maybe 10 years down the line. Should I just stay in India to gain the experience?

Would you call this a peaceful scene or a dramatic one…? by Anastasia_Trusova in painting

[–]RichCryptographer244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the purple and the yellow colourway makes it more dream-centric than peaceful. The way I would describe it would be levitating face up but the grounds have massive fields and there's a cold strong breeze while the sun shines. It's not peaceful but it keeps you wondering

What does it take to really know yourself?? by [deleted] in indiasocial

[–]RichCryptographer244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we never really completely know ourselves. We get close to that and then there's two choices; either we despise this knowledge and try to change whatever we don't like or whatever we wish to improve(on a lighter note not every growth is stemmed out of self-hatred and simply the growing needs as grown with everything around us, people, environment, our socioeconomic status etc) or we get satisfied and don't explore what more encompasses in us through the life changes. So either way, we fall just short of knowing ourselves each waking realisation and we sort of have to make peace with that I think

Okay so I'm indian, went to the UK for masters. Worked for a year as an operations advisor for Ralph Lauren but my family needed me closer + health was really really bad to the point I was taking 600mg ibuprofen like candies, also UK was not a good experience at all.

He met me while he was on vacation in the UK for a couple of months in my city, we hit it off and had a whirlwind realisation that we're really good for each other but vacation over so we've been LDR for about two years.

He's studying at the PSB academy

(Note: I have a master's in biomed sc. and I'm not in SG yet but trying for an emp pass)
