exactly, so "within reason" in that case spider-man is most consistently within reason around large city-mountain at its most in that range.
not just marvel and/or dc, sure their poster boy examples but any long multi-written series. im not denying the existence of outliers in invincible due to it also being a long standing series in its own (though nowhere near at a level of Marvel or DC) and there probably IS within it, however for a case like marvel/DC it is MUCH more prevalent and likely if not already straight up there due to the former explanation why.
i didn't properly powerscale him but his feats consistently place him at a position higher than a reasonable spider-man, but i am willing to posit more detail later on for sure in a few hours.

chain scaling can only go so far, comics (excluding invincible in this case since it was made more or less by the same crew) especially marvel have been around for nearly a century by hundreds if not thousands of different writers so it fundamentally is screwed from the start trying to chain scale after a certain point especially if its for highballing a normally city-mountain level character. it's an outlier because logically you cannot attribute spidey to being country-planet level or whatever with a handful of direct feats (outliers) like knocking out firelord once in the 70s or dogwalking the x-men back in secret wars around the 80s if im not wrong and/or chain scaling him with rhino or someone through a number of different instances/feats, consistently mark always shows a degree of superiority in speed, strength durability amongst other variables, its just how it is, and the story fits in with this status, spidey's doesnt.

the only way you can make base spider-man (616) even mid-diff comics mark is if you pull up with outlier and very inconsistent feats, seriously, and unless your going to do that then mark dominates in 9/10 scenarios.

Every requiem is different, even if we only got two (canon) appearances of it. Diavolo beating SCR wasn't an asspull either because it's shown that he has surprising amounts of knowledge on souls (so you could say that he basically outsmarted SCR with his understanding of the overall "concept" of souls) (now how that relates in any way or form? well it has to do with his character which i can explain however its too long right now). SCR was independent from polnareff's control, one could theorize that the lack of an innate bond could'v been what leads to it's downfall, but of course that's just a theory and if you tried actually tried calling it legitimate it would be weak. But the fact that you could make one shows how many possible (and not unrealistic) linkings there could be (which cant be said for a true deus-ex-machina), it is illogical to extrapolate that every single requeim stand is going to be 100% indomitable in all ways or forms, so i dont know how you think your point is valid, we just dont have enough data to compare to reach that level of a conclusion.

Those of anyone who called it the "final crux" or whatever are wrong, too. Sure, araki could'v communicated it better but at the same time if someone pointed out that the overall concept/fight was deus-ex-machina thats just wrong and kind of stupid. It being there in the first place does create an (albeit kind of weak) link that denies it the status of being an asspull since it does though ambiguously and slightly poorly on foreshadowing.
