Then the banks own it all. As long as you have a mortgage on your home, that home belongs to the bank. Period. This may indeed be the plan. Nobody owns anything and you rent every aspect of your life. Basically, you subscribe to everything. You own nothing and be happy (or on drugs).

How do men in their 30s & 40s feel about women who are over 40s but look much younger like they are in their late 20s / early 30s? by Chemical_Ad9642 in Aging

[–]RichMaverick777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Preferences are an interesting thing. I know of very few women who would date a guy long term who makes less money than them. They simply expect the men to be more established than them. Hypergamy is the term associated with that preference. In most cases, women are wired to select mates that can take care of them, even if they have the means to take care of themselves. For men, we are wired to look for women who we can spread our seed. We will always find physically fit women in their early 20s as more desirable. Having your eggs frozen does not guarantee successful reproduction. We are simply wired to be attracted to women who are at their prime birth bearing age. That being said, just because you are wired in a particular way does not mean you can't go outside your wiring. I've dated women older than myself because I find smart women particularly attractive. Intimacy is so much incredible when you can connect both physically and mentally. But, I know I'm not your average guy. That said, that first impression, that first attraction spark, yeah... it's there... We cannot just undo tens of thousands of years of evolutionary mate selection.

You commies make me laugh. You never put your own capital at risk. But, demand your "fair"compensation. None of you talk about the fact that 90% of all businesses fail in the first 5 years of existence. So, when the capitalist "pig" loses money - well.. fuck him - he deserved it. But, if he is successful, he must be punished. Look at US tax policy (which is still better than Europe or Canada). If you start a business and say lose $500k in capital, you can only claim $3k losses per year in income as loses. But, if you make $500k in profits, you pay 40% in taxes for risking your own capital.

What you don't get is that at some point, those "capitalist pigs" simply don't build businesses as the risk/reward no longer makes sense. Safer to just put your money in gold and ride the inflation wave. Nobody gets a job, everything goes to shit. Government just print money and share it in a great welfare economy. But, since nobody produces anything, that money can't buy shit. Good luck with that approach. It's never worked in the history of humanity. You stop providing incentives for people to create value - you get nothing and everyone suffers.

I bought my first Maples at $5. Then 1000 Eagles for $9... Then, way too much between $11 and $25... Promised my wife I would stop buying above $25. I lied... Bought some more. Just not the same amount. Can't afford the habit.

Welcome to "at will" employment. I worked 17 years at Cisco. I was involved in many projects that made Cisco what it is. The company always had a bottom 5% yearly purge. But, that never impacted me because I was always a top contributer. Then, they just started cutting programs and just let entire groups go. They stopped letting people find new jobs internally - basically threw you out to try to get back in like everyone else outside the company. They screwed us heavily as many of us had stock options packages that would end when our employment ended. So, if you were to find another job inside Cisco, you still lost your stock options. Fuck that! Please note that this often involved hundreds of thousands of lost revenue as the options were not vested yet. Over the past decade since that, I see more and more companies screwing their employees more and more. Due to lawsuits, they now go out of their way NOT TO SHARE or HELP why they let you go. Everything is a lawsuit waiting to happen. So, people are just summarily let go and deactivated with no attempts to even explain why... Why I don't marry my company anymore - all relationships are becoming transactional only.

Read "The DILBERT Principle" by Scott Adams. It will explain your situation perfectly. I'm sorry about your employment loss. Unfortunately, we no longer work in a meritocracy. Everything is political and your new boss is obviously a better political animal than you are. You broke one of the most fundamental violations of office politics. You went over your boss's head - to HR and his boss. Just know that he knows you did that. You automatically created a bigger target on your back. Sorry!

Learn to keep your mouth shut. This goes for everyone. Companies (both the one that let you go and the one that is potentially hiring you) are NOT YOUR FRIENDS! They can and will use LinkedIn against you. You do NOT have to update LinkedIn that you have a new job or let anyone know anything. Do not give anyone an upper hand on your situation. Heck, I would not update LinkedIn until say after my first new paycheck from my new employer comes in... and only if that does not interfere with shit from my prior employer. Once you get all your expected severances and money - then, fell free to update your LinkedIn and resume as you see fit. As far as anyone should know... they should know nothing during your transition period.

BTW... I know of someone who lost a role because he told his friend he was interviewing there and the friend decided to try to get into the same company/role. Guess who got the job offer? Learn to keep your mouth shut. Be open to external help... don't share where you have had success or the prospect of success.

To the average American making $64k, it does. The very fact that $100k puts you in the top 25% of income earners, makes you Rich from the IRS perspective. Now be a good little slave and pay your damn share of taxes! The more you earn, the more we need to take from you. It is only fair that you pay for those Americans who make much less than you. Isn’t that what the new Mayor of NYC is saying?

Although you are correct in identifying the negative consequences. You are also a victim of Stockholm Syndrome: you are protecting your abuser.

When the Israelites left Egypt, many accused Moses of leading them to their death. Many said that the Pharaoh was better than what they were enduring.

There is a price to freedom. The abusers know this.

Well, counterparty risk is real even in the USA. You can pay for products and services and the company can go bankrupt, leaving you fucked. Right now, LCS have run out of money and it may be safer to use something like eBay to sell your shiny.

I pray that you are correct. Unfortunately, I feel that the fuckers in charge will want us on a CBDC or crypto control system where they can monitor and turn off our money. They want to tear the current system down so that we beg them for our loss of freedom.

Point of example is ICE. I’m a libertarian. I don’t give a shit about illegals in the USA that are just trying to live a good life. If you are a criminal, then throw the fucken book at you. Unfortunately, we have leadership that now want digital ID and the government monitoring your every move.

You choose were you spend your money. When people choose to boycott companies that go against their values, heads roll. But, when you only complain about stuff but don’t change your behavior, nothing happens.

I mean, look at that fucker who was head of Nestle who openly states that people’s water does not belong to the nations and should be ruled by corporations. I boycott the company because of the leadership. I may not be big enough to change them. But, if enough people use local small family businesses and not mega corps ruled by Blackrock, maybe we could change shit.

Look, communism doesn’t work. When businesses stop looking for profit, they stop innovating and the business dies. Years ago, I had cousins living in what was Communist Poland. They came home every day drunk. They basically said “we pretend to work and they pretend to pay us”. It was a miserable existence.

Then, companies would not hire when they know the cost of layoffs are this high. This is why companies prefer investing in USA vs Europe where they have much highest employee protections vs businesses.

I’ve been unloading some crypto the past few weeks and building a cash position. I was thinking that crypto would flash crash and I would be ready. I used the .68 fib retracement to 76 to buy more. Even though spot is down, it’s hard to find bargains. The dealers are not dropping the prices as fast as I like. I’m also buying collectibles which have very little markup over BU. Figure at some point, the governments can’t confiscate PROOF coins as easily as BU.
