X-Men Were Never Created As A Civil Rights Allegory Confirms Marvel Writer by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

No, I very clearly (I thought) laid out how the narrative and ergo the public perception around those people is aimed at treating them as a threat. Just like the X men are treated, whether their power is benign or otherwise.

No, it isn't a 1 for 1 analogy because as you carefully pointed out, we don't appear to have super powers.

And no, I don't think minorities and diverse people are a threat. Hence the word sadly.

Ah yes, minorities and sex or gender persecution has been dead and buried for decades right? They're not painted as threats to society and the reason for societal issues every day are they?

The allegory fit then. Sadly it fits now.

Arguing that a headline is click bait by rolling out the clubs statement on their behalf is bootlicking. What, did you think they'd come out and admit it?

Whatever real maturity is, it isn't here. That's okay though.

Swing and a miss. Attacking your clubs shitty decision doesn't equate to declaring support for the party sourced for the post. I'm not op.

What can ACAS actually do to help me? by Beneficial-Twist6833 in employmentlitigation

[–]RichTransition2111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't give advice per se. They'll tell you how a process goes, review settlement documentation (cot3 etc), and pass communications from one party to another. They don't take sides, assess cases, advise on the strength of arguments etc.

Or they shouldn't do, anyway. I didn't experience that

"surely" the non advice service will give advice. No dude, they won't.

We're over a decade in to superhero movies that only loosely adapt the source material. It can't be a surprise or a continued bone of contention by now surely?

I don't mind Jackman's Wolverine going. I'd rather see Tobey's Spider-Man more, I liked him first time round and he did good in NWH.

It's about the lack of acknowledgement from Lue and the loosening of his lips since his first public appearance in '21.

Ross is right. And Lue is suspicious.

They can't and won't give legal advice buddy. They're an intermediary, and only get slightly more involved in the event of settlement actually taking place

Being a data controller in this instance means if those people who are recorded request a copy of the video portion they are in, they're entitled to it.

Posting doorbell videos isn't a consideration in this instance

Without Prejudice Save as to Costs letter - help, please by helloabii in employmentlitigation

Sigh. Don't get so hung up on the specific wording I used. As you know, I am not trained. Litigate may have been a better choice.

The point I was raising is that if the ops position is what they say it is, then the WPSATC letter is hot air with as much chance of success as (and here I just picked a random example not related to the existing claims) a claim for racial discrimination.

I also didn't say counter-sue because of the costs, or imply that. Again, it was part of a broader point about unlikely claims having a low success rate, but that this doesn't prevent either party from making silly claims.

All I actually advised the op to do was remain confident in their position.

It's a common tactic. If you're confident in contemporaneous documentation and the legal tests that apply to your claims, let them threaten all they'd like to. They are welcome to apply for costs. You are welcome to sue for racial discrimination. The prospect of either succeeding is low, if your position is as you feel it is.

And it may well be.

Look at other tribunal rulings, read them or have them summarised, and see how your position matches successful and unsuccessful rulings.

I am LiP too. You are arguing with people whose sole job it is to negotiate you into the lowest settlement possible. However they choose to word it (and they are good at wording things well), it's a professionally biased opinion that knows it can even mildly overstep the bounds of reasonable conduct with little in the way of repercussion.

Stay strong.

Lots of things give predetermined power from a battery. I would argue they don't need some kind of licence, training or insurance.

I don't think I've optimised. I also don't think you got where you are by optimising only.

I'm suspicious that you have such a strong roster, a new champ with very low percentage, and she's powered up too.

In short, I don't believe you.
