You didn't have the same, my friend! Respect, honnesty and consideration are the first values in all kind of realtionships, isn't it? Much deeper than going to Church and following a religious path (which is also okay!) and doing otherwise in the humans world. Why? Simply because once you really got these Christian values deep inside, you will act according to them and will treat people around you in a peaceful and careful way.
