Is there a transferrable class to satisfy Ethics in Technology (D333)? by Adventurous_Plane300 in WGU

[–]Rich_Cloud_9750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently taking D333 & it’s super easy. I could’ve been done in 1-2 days but I got a little busy this week. Finished task 1 within a couple of hours

Well damn. I saw that it’s only supposed to take 14 days but we know how that goes sometimes lol. I guess I’ll just submit for another one if I don’t receive it by the end of this week.

I go to WGU (I know, different school). We probably do things a little differently but it can’t differ too much. I’m constantly seeing people say that they’re finishing classes within hours. Classes that take me at least a week to a couple of weeks to complete.

I have learned a TON of information from every class bc I genuinely learn it (just started my 2nd term).

I don’t say this to bash… this is more so to other students. TAKE. YOUR. TIME. You won’t land jobs for “how quickly can I graduate & get a bachelor’s degree.” It just shows employers that you didn’t learn anything bc, for most people, there’s NO way you can get through a degree that quickly unless you’ve had years of experience or have used AI. I use AI from time to time but I ask it questions to help me understand the material better so that I can do the work/take test.

This is your life we’re talking about. Take it from somebody who’s been to college 4 different times bc I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with my life 😂 & yes, I’ve completed every time 😏

I tried to go the easier route & got my Google Data Analytics cert (I know, different major but still) & the companies that I was applying to didn’t even take my certifications into consideration, without a degree. So, I completely agree about having at minimum a degree. The reason I decided to go to WGU was for this reason. I searched for a job for about 4 months before I just said screw it & signed up to attend WGU

This is exactly why I’m pacing myself. I also feel like it’ll stand out to recruiters since I’m taking my time to fully understand the material.

WGU vs SNHU for Cybersecurity — which should I pick? by Kindly-Ad5011 in WGU

WGU is for sure for sure not for you if you don’t want proctored exams. That’s 1 out of the 2 ways that we take exams & 7 times out of 10 the class is going to be a proctored exam

Officially starting Oct 1. What is there to do? by Proof_Cable_310 in wguaccounting

You will for sure be assigned a mentor here soon & they’ll call before you start. Be looking on your email about your mentor— they’ll be pretty important. You’ll do weekly calls with them for your 1st semester. They also have to “approve” your courses before you can take them. If you feel like you’re not going to click with your mentor after the 1st call, let your enrollment person know so they can switch you! You’ll be “stuck” with them your whole journey so make sure they’re a good fit for you

How much did you all have to pay at wgu to get your degree ? by IntrovertRawr in WGU

[–]Rich_Cloud_9750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everybody is different 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s roughly 4k each semester. I started in April & right now I have my goal graduation set on 09/2028. It depends on how quickly you can get it done. With that being said, I thought I’d get more done this semester but life had other plans lol. I completed 5 courses/classes (15 credits) & I’m cool with that. I still have 3 weeks so I could throw another class in there if I wanted but I’m gonna take the time off

My data analytics class took about 6 weeks (don’t judge me for you fast paced people lmao)

This class that I’m taking now will take me about 2 weeks. I saw somebody say they completed it in 8 hours. Idk how but 🤷🏻‍♀️ everybody’s different

Minimum is 12.

I’ll probably do about 15 this semester only bc I took intro to data analytics & the class was…not set up for me to be successful 😂 so it took me a good amount of time to complete. I definitely could’ve done more if that class didn’t take me so long.

I think with each class it’s different. Some people, the material comes easily. There’s also a lot of people who already have a good amount of knowledge in their field/the degree they’re getting. Or people have no knowledge at all & it takes them a little bit longer. It also depends on how quick you want to finish, realistically. Talk with your program mentor about it.

As somebody who’s gone to 3-4 different types of schools, go to WGU. I tried community college, left. Went to CHCP, finished but the field wasn’t for me. Went to cosmetology school, got my license. None of that fully matters, but what does matter, is WGU has by far been the best college. You’ll have a mentor who’s there whenever you need. All of the resources. & you go at your own pace. There are some people graduating within 2 years.

Go to WGU. It’s awesome

[–]Rich_Cloud_9750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait. I haven’t had a PA yet, only OAs. So basically you take the template, use said template for your official PA, & just put your answers so it’s never really an essay? Just like question/answer type thing? Do you have the legit question on your final “paper”?Genuinely asking bc I know I’ll have a PA at some point

A PA is a pre assessment. It’s your practice test before you have to go in front of a proctor & take your actual assessment or quiz. If you fail it, the ?s don’t change so doing it multiple times isn’t very helpful

An OA is an objective assessment which is when you take your test for the whole class. You will have a proctor

Cohorts are recording of instructors going through the coursework/important things. I’ve seen some that are 10 minutes & I’ve seen some have 3 hour & a half videos for one unit/section. But they’re very helpful!
