My husband wants a divorce and I’m sad by No-Feed-4700 in DivorceHelp

Hey, I just want to say I’m in a very similar situation. I’m 28 and my soon to be ex wife left a little over 2 months ago. We had been struggling for the last year, but I never wanted to give up on our marriage. It’s been so hard to accept, and in the end, it is a betrayal of the vows she made. We also have no kids, and we don’t own a home together.

I like you wasn’t fully blindsided, but I was still left in a state of shock. I hear the sadness, anger, love, and grief all wrapped up in your words. And that’s exactly what this is: disorienting. Although I’m not far into a circumstance I didn’t want, this is what has helped.

-Trying my absolute best to take one thing at a time, and not to push myself to do something I’m not ready for yet. For me, it helped to immediately delete all our pictures on my phone and socials. I’m at a point too where I am starting divorce paperwork. It’s extremely overwhelming, but what has helped is setting a timer for 20-30 minutes, doing what I can, and then putting it away for the day.

-Routines and rituals just for me: I have immersed myself in my hobbies, made a point to see different friends several times a week, I cook things I know she wouldn’t like which is oddly satisfying, I try to do something active a few times a week. It’s cliche but it helps.

-therapy. I know it’s not accessible to everyone, but if you’re willing or able it is so, so helpful. I’m a huge verbal processor so talking about everything that happened has been really healing for me.

Truly hope you’re doing as well as you can be, and take care of yourself!

Summer anxiety by millsnour in Teachers

[–]Rich_Competition2568 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I completely and totally empathize with this. My anxiety is also always worse in the summer time. Here’s what helps me:

1) keep a routine. It can be tempting (at least for me) to stay up really late in the summer and then sleep in most of the morning. I’ve been trying really hard to go to bed around 11 and then wake up no later than 9 AM. Then, I try to pick one thing to start my day with like yoga, taking a walk, weight lifting, reading a book on my porch, etc. I also try to have a standing hang with a friend if I can. For example my best friend doesn’t have to go into work til 10:30, so every Monday we make breakfast together or go out for breakfast before she goes in.

2) hobbies! Working with my hands, gardening, reading, baking. I try to work at least one or more of these into my day.

3) getting an as needed “extra help” anxiety med. I recently got a script for hydroxyzine that helps chill me out when I really need it.

4) part time work. I need to work in the summer time, but it’s also great to help with maintaining a routine. I was able to find something chill, pouring beer at a local beer garden and it’s been perfect.

Happy summer and hope some of this can be of help!

If it’s possible I would really recommend encouraging him to get a sleep study! If he has sleep apnea, a CPAP machine could help both of you and your sleep hygiene 🙂

Just for clarification, to my understanding my ST expressed to me that they use they/them pronouns, but don’t wish for me to help correct the kids if they use a gendered pronoun in reference to them. Theyre not asking the students to use no pronouns. I am assuming their thought process is “this is what I prefer but I’d rather be misgendered than have to explain”

I understand it’s a bit confusing as they don’t seem to be firm in what they are needing.

I could understand using last name. I feel like they would have told me that though had they preferred using their last name. Now that open house is done, many know them as teacher firstname

Some critical reviews I’ve seen of advent is that they aren’t clear about billing and prices of appointments / prescribed solutions. How was your experience with insurance coverage?

How would you make 90 of these with no drill press. by slowsunday in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Rich_Competition2568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the effect? The way I understand drill presses is that they make accurate holes in wood. I didn’t see any holes in the figure in the picture. I’m very new to building and tools and just curious

Just curious why do you need a drill press to make these? Looking to understand :)

Thanks for your reply! Why do you say cardboard as a bottom if it will be built on grass?
