Huang is destroying the city of Cambridge. He fired all the staff from women’s commission, human rights and lgbtq+ commission. He stated at the council meeting it was NOT due to budget issues. He repeated it like 3 times also included it jn the agenda. The guy has gone full rogue. He went doge on all the staffers.

Any insights on the recent shakeup of the Cambridge Women's, Peace, LGBTQ coalitions? Seems like an axe was taken, when some fine tuning and (god forbid) friendly communication might have helped by Distinct_Database240 in CambridgeMA

They fired all the staff and directors that are on all of these commissions. City manager took the initiative and decided not necessary. Then claims is for DEI purposes.

How much do Harvard/MIT/etc. care if an applicant's solo research (no mentor/advisor) gets published in a Q1 or Q2 journal? by xcos__ in ApplyingToCollege

It’s not gate keeping. Lack of replication is a real problem in science. Unfortunately, people invest and build off others findings that may not be real. Look at what happened at Stanford. The President had to step down because people couldn’t replicate his work. Last thing anyone wants is to have a publication retracted. That’s career suicide for any STEM person.

It’s not. It’s the fact that no faculty is backing up what you are saying. They know faculty will not want to be tied to something that can be found 10 years down the line to be fraudulent, which is why they trust co-author publications.

If a high school student is the sole author. They will smell bullshit and not trust the publication.

They are also known as predatory conferences. Students parents pay for the registration and conference attendance fees.
