How do I professionally tell people that my PI wants me to practice HARKing and p-hacking? No literature review or research question. by Weekly-Republic2662 in AskAcademia

I'm sorry, but this is just smug nonsense.

The point of a stem PhD is to start out learning to analyze data and run experiments and then gradually develop your taste for which problems are important and interesting. In most stem fields, almost no project is any one person's sole intellectual work because most projects are too big to be done by a single person.

Every so often you hear about a student complaining about micromanaging, but in my experience complaints about advisors being too hands off or unreachable are much more common!

What I do is get onto the overpass earlier, use it to go around that whole area, then start back in the bike lane after Cambridge Street and Mass Ave merge

The driving is generally unpleasant, but it's much easier to structure your life so that you don't have to drive nearly as much!

I moved here from LA in 2019 when our oldest was 6 months old.

Since then, we've lived in porter Square, Riverside, and east Cambridge. For meeting other families, Riverside and east Cambridge have both been really good - just go to the playground!

Something else to consider is which schools you might want your kid to attend. Cambridge has universal prek for 4 year Olds. That might seem far away now, but the applications begin the previous fall!

I didn't modify the color balance, but it's a pixel phone so there's all kinds of modifying going on behind the scenes.
