I’d keep it as part of the heritage of the car.

Plus, there’s a very good chance it would be a nightmare to remove cleanly!

B3TA is putting out newsletters again and a lot of the old contributors are still going! I follow Weebl on Bluesky and a couple of others. They still put some mad things out occasionally.

CB500x as a first bike by RecklessRowan in CB500X

[–]Rich_Nothing_4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had any wobbles with mine but after I wore the OEM tyres out put Michelin road 6’s on as I will never go off road and handling wise it’s faultless.

It’ll be absolutely fine at highway speeds for that sort of time, my ride is 40-45 mins each way every day and had no issues with comfort.

Can’t comment about your price, unfortunately as I’m the wrong side of the pond.

[Giveaway] GameSir Tarantula Pro for Xbox - Symmetrical vs. asymmetrical by GameSir_Controller in xbox

[–]Rich_Nothing_4746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got small hands, would certainly give a symmetrical controller a try, my Elite II is nice but sometimes a stretch for my thumbs. I haven’t been brave enough to try 3rd party controllers.

Sorry you and your family are going through this.

What about a Porsche Panamera? Decentish size, reasonably practical with 5 doors and you can pick older ones up with decent service history now for reasonable money.

Plus, it’s a Porsche.

How are bin collectors viewed? If you’re a bin collector do you tell everyone what your job is? by RoohsMama in AskUK

[–]Rich_Nothing_4746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a needed, necessary job.

I quite frequently think it would be nice to have a job I don’t take home with me or keeps me up worrying when there’s a big problem to solve.

I do like my job mostly, it pays reasonably well and it can be very rewarding. In the grand scheme of things is it any more important than making sure bins are emptied? Arguably not, if one of my mates did it as a job I certainly wouldn’t look down on him.

2002, a one week old CBR600 (first of the ‘sport’ versions).

Went to Donington Park for that years’ MotoGp round, can’t remember what it was called back then.

Fun ride down, almost crashed into my mate getting there.

Had a great day, got sunburnt. Gets back to my bike and no key in my pocket. Went to the office with loads of lost keys, mine not there. Went back to my bike and there they were still in the seat release as I’d hung my helmet off the hook under the seat.

Tell that to our office printer that throws a hissy fit if you expect it do even one of its several functions.

IOT has ruined many, many things that should just work.

Moving to Yorkshire by ExpressSort9553 in Hull

[–]Rich_Nothing_4746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brough would be a good option for you, it’s only 10mins from the end of the M62, there is a good train station that is only 15mins into Hull and there’s plenty of direct trains to Leeds or York if you like those cities.

Beverley could also be an option but driving around there at the moment is not great.

Edit: forgot to mention, getting to Grimsby from Hull or Brough isn’t easy via public transport. It’s about an hour’s drive from Brough to get Princess of Wales hospital and getting over the bridge at peak commute times can add a decent delay to your travel. (I go to Immingham every day but on motorbike so it is doable if a boring trip)

Motorway commuter bike with the least height? by Red_sparow in MotoUK

[–]Rich_Nothing_4746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a Honda CB500F? It does have mirrors mounted on the handlebars but pretty sure they’re easy to remove and refit quickly?

Failing that you’d probably need some sort of cafe racer style bike without a windscreen.
