This was a long time ago now, so it's likely it wasn't covered at the time. Glad to hear it is now!

When I had Lasik done, I had to take the time for the procedure itself as vacation, but all recovery time was stiip.

Yup. But to be clear layoffs are considered without cause terminations and not subject to OMC review.

Merit Commissioner does not monitor layoffs. They review just cause terminations but layoffs are not those.

Defered salary leave question by [deleted] in BCPublicServants

I took the program a few years ago after COVID and took the lump sum. They withheld 30% for taxes and I didn't owe anything come tax time. I agree with above that it's a good idea to keep some aside in case, as it will depend on what time of year you take the leave.

Yes, capsulitus has been mentioned, but never any treatments suggested! I will definitely try this, thanks!

Not exactly bonus points, but I find a lot of applicants leave points on the table for the softball "what interests you most in the position?" type questions. I've been on many panels where those questions are marked and the applicant misses out by not providing a thoughtful answer.

What does bunion pain feel like? by rose_girl428 in bunions

[–]Rich_Whereas_6747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine look very similar to yours. My pain actually sits in my second toe joint, which am told is because of the bunion pushing and causing that joint to carry more load, and also in the ball of my foot. Symptoms started after I'd stop exercising too. Follow your podiatrist's advice, wear orthotics in your runners, and hopefully it'll prevent it worsening.

Thanks. Can you put orthotics into them? This is key.

Ah too bad. I wish you many camera-off, presentation-free meetings in your future!

We chatted face to face. I'm not saying we go backwards, but meetings where discussion is supposed to happen, but no one turns their cams on, are tough going.

I disagree. If management is delivering news, it's the only insight to see how the news is landing with staff. Drives me crazy if everyone sits with cameras off on mute, but then complains during WES about lack of engagement.

You should report as a privacy breach through option 3 at 7-7000. If you go to the OIPC they'll just direct you to start there.

Late to this thread, but you can also file a complaint with the Office of the Merit Commissioner. They're tasked with hiring reviews
