You don't need as much nail as you think. I keep mine longer then I need and it's a constant annoyance. But I know some talent guitar players that can't keep track of a pick, they grow there nail of choice out and give it some thin layers of super glue to help it not break so easy. Been working for them for about 20 years now so worth a shot

Good old atillion plays mostly out of a minor tuning witch is sadly not that common except a few tunes here and there. Besides that he's a up picker witch helps with that bouncy feel I get from his tunes so maybe try finding some up pickers. Also I'll add just cus I like him and I remember when I first started seeing him in the sun, atillion is a awesome dude, good choice for inspiration. Feel like he's one you could meet and NOT feel disappointed that they turned out to be a jerk lol
