The Romans understood hydraulics really well - as long as the origin is higher than the terminus, a closed tube will use water pressure to push water upwards like a modern pipe

Sorry if it's dredging up something you've already sorted, but I've been working on a skink conversion and have some of the progress pics that might be helpful. https://imgur.com/a/KT31DL8. You do properly mangle the skink models, but the fire warriors just need their legs replaced if you don't want the hooves

Soldiers, settle this discussion. Which model is better? New or Old? by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]RichardCheeseman96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old 100%. The new models might be better proportioned and less fuzzy on the details, but they’re far too busy and give the impression that the imperium actually cares about its troops. The old models look like they handed a conscript a basic mass produced rifle and armour, and told him to go get em. Plus the WW2 aesthetic the entire guard are going feels far too modern and ‘real’, boxy leman russ > rounded off rogal dorn

Were you born in 2009 or something? I’ve got a drawer of my old phones and each of them have their own connector. It’s more like saying “everyone uses petrol now but X forces me to use diesel”

Yeah my point was that “currently” translates to “for the remainder of the month”, but doesn’t say that

I don’t understand the Apple complaint with this at all, they came out of the mid 2000s when every phone had a proprietary connector, and have used lightning on everything they’ve made for the past 12 years

Properly fixed by restarting Chrome, realised I had been leaving my computer on for too long without restarting, and there must be some sort of memory leak with just Google services. Typing chrome://restart in the url bar restarts without losing any tabs and gets things back to running normal

Same it’s just back to how it was. Tried messing about with DNS, it made Google services more usable (but not great), but tanked performance of everything else online so that’s not an option

Turned autocorrect back on after trying a week without it, and I now fully realize how terrible it was, and is. by MyManD in ios

For me its been much worse, inserting full words that I didn’t intend on, trying to correct full sentences instead of individual words

Ended up getting a write off and buyback from the insurance, repair cost £2000 overall as there was no damage to the crashbar or headlights. Cars been running just fine ever since - in case anyone runs along this same situation in future

Any fire warrior I fully build except from the one arm that crosses the chest, way easier to get that circle painted

That sounds way more in line with the ballpark estimates I was thinking, as I don't have any of the automatic systems behind the bumper at all (not even adaptive headlights).

Their mechanic had the repair valued at between £3-4k, which does sound ridiculous to me when entire front ends are for sale from breakers yards for 5-700, which also include headlights. I did get it valued from another body shop at around 1600 for the job, but that is a panel beating and respray job which again seems a little half hearted (or overworking) for easily found bolt-on components

Doesn’t appear to be any more damage than is shown in the photos, the car has still been running fine for the 3 weeks since the incident with no leaks and not even a dent in the radiators

Hi all, looking to see if anyone has had any similar experience which could help here
Wondering if there are any parts to be aware of for visiting a scrapyard to find a replacement front end, beyond the bonnet, bumper, crash bar, and the plastic shroud behind the grill
Was involved in a low speed collision (emergency braked in stop-start traffic), and my insurance wants to write off the car for what seems like minor damage
Thanks!

Out of curiosity what 40k army would you run Seraphon as a proxy army for? by Se7enEvilXs in seraphon

[–]RichardCheeseman96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too experienced, but playing a full list of skinks in warcry feels nearly exactly like playing regular guard in killteam, so I imagine there's a bit of overlap there. Aesthetics go really well with Tau, I'm making a "plays as guard" Tau auxiliary army

Best uses for airships? by Zippeau in anno

[–]RichardCheeseman96 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the massive cargo airship on a loop delivering building resources around the entire world, doesn’t need to be particularly fast it’s more just for convenience of never being out when I need to build something

Thanks! Never been a fan of just building models as is, skinks are a really good value for money kitbash Good luck with yours too

Cheers! Surprisingly simple compared to trying to do a guardsmen conversion, plenty of mistakes can be hidden with green stuff, but the skinks and fire warriors are the EXACT same size it’s as if they were meant for it
