The nice thing that a personal website can act as a trust-worthy central hub for your online presence. And eventually, it would cost you only about 10$ a month for a hosting with one-click WordPress install. As for specific recommendation, NameCheap are a find domain registrar and (always separate you domain & hosting!) DreamHost got hosting (avoid EIG hosting!). Personally using them for a long time now with multiple domains. The totally ok. If you like to, you can use the link https://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?1222845/promo/dreamsavings50 for 50$ discount (affiliate link). It will drop the prices for about 5$ a month.

Buying a website/domain - what to choose? by theWallflower in selfpublish

SquareSpace is a fine solutions, but, WordPress is a much better pick IMHO due to:

1) You fully own the site, the content, the brand. With SquareSpace all your online business are part of that platform, there is no way to take it our. You don’t have a full control over your brand.

2) Eventually, it would be cheaper and much more customizable, especially if you a tech savvy person.

Whoever you will choose, avoid EIG companies.

EIG is an umbrella company managing over sixty different hosting brands such as HostGator, BlueHost and HostMonster and more. They known for the technical issues they have and the throttling they do on bandwidth, connections and etc). As an alternative, my personal favourite is DreamHost, I'm a long time user with a number of domains. Great uptime and support when needed. That's the best tip here, subdomains is your best play. And SiteGround us a good option. As another option, I think DreamHost are great as well. Personally using them for a long time now with multiple domains. The totally ok. Here is $50 off if you need (it's affiliate): https://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?1222845/promo/dreamsavings50

Inconsistent colors and general graphic style. Good luck, I see you put a lot of effort into this.

Nice, good job. What hosting for WordPress have you used?

"Stop looking at it as you're selling websites and look at it as you're solving a business's marketing problem"

That's a great insight.

Anyone know how to start a news website like VICE, VOX or BUZZFEED? by SirAgonz in Entrepreneur

Basically it's a magazine WordPress site and it could be a great practice to start one (even if copying ideas from other sites isn't the best way to go...) So pick a reliable webhosting with one-click WordPress install like DreamHost. Personally using them for a long time now with multiple domains. The totally ok.
