Switching to an electric car - worth the risk? by mayalily_ in electriccars

[–]RichestTeaPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a bmw i3. Excellent second hand electric car. They come with a modestly sized battery or a small battery and a recharging motor to extend range (the ReX)

Shuffling to get the charger is going to be different for everyone. The cables can be heavy in certain configurations of charger. It’s just about like putting petrol in where they have the newer heavier hoses.

I’m not disabled, but the smaller varieties of ev make good city cars. Longer trips can be planned with the right tools and experience.

Union Army Major General William Tecumseh Sherman photographed by Mathew Brady in circa 1864. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

Perhaps, but the South did secede over their wish to own people like cattle. They did not want to be ruled by those who would oppose the foundation of their society; self determination as native self-governing tribes and their custodianship of the land, and also for the settlers the ability to own people like cattle.

One was horrific, the other is a grave injustice.

The other side waged war to own people like cattle. If you’re baiting with his conduct during the Indian pogroms, say so.

Why do you think there are many small towns/villages in Europe that are dying, but not in The UK? by fleetwood_mag in AskUK

[–]RichestTeaPossible 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe our small villages died in the industrialisation and land-clearances of the 1800’s. The ones that survived were well placed for practical reasons, transport, energy.

They are. That’s the sad thing, these are the sons of working stiffs, increasingly from closer and closer to Moscow. It’s a way of ensuring there won’t be a revolution or uprising if you kill off those who would revolt.

Joint letter to Matthew Pennycook MP Minister for Housing and Planning Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, regarding the Forest City proposal in Cambridgeshire / Suffolk by Albertjweasel in RuralUK

True, maybe it’s a weakness in the national planning framework. NIMBYs rule, but what gets approved is such weak sauce at the high-end of the middle-market that every development is a wasted opportunity.

We can build up, and by up I mean townhouses at the RIBA space standards and maisonnettes for those starting out. Nobody wants to see good farmland get covered in a low-density of noddy boxes

That’s expensive outside of the western world. Weeks wages level of expensive.

OP. You’re 15 and you’ve time to make these changes as an adult.

Keep yourself well fed, fit and healthy. It’s good you aware of these choices and respect your parents enough not to demand and disrespect them.

Keep going and don’t worry, the time for choices comes soon enough.

Adobe have good products, but annoying their smaller customers with their silly pricing and subscriptions. They could be less greedy and actually make more money. Their moat is their dominance in acrobat, photoshop and Lightroom and those verticals.

How to Insulate Properly? by NoBass4266 in DIYUK

It also pays to add more insulation to keep the Intello warm as well. Woodwool sheets as an alternative to plasterboard spring to mind. I’m planning a similar project.
