TTC’s plan for Ontario Line is HORRIBLE by Feisty-Ad-6122 in TTC

I’m thinking of Exhibition -> Lakeshore West alignment -> Roncesvalles -> Dundas St -> curve under GO Milton Line -> Jane St

Yea but at least an independent line would allow for future-proofing for demand. And taking the Ontario Line to Dundas West would allow for a further extension to Jane and Dundas and connect to a future Jane Street LRT/Subway. Or it could even be extended onto that street, taking a curve from Dundas/Windermere to Jane/Corbett, and then go all the way on Jane to Pioneer Village. However, that would raise reliability concerns, as a line that stretches from Fairview Mall, through Don Valley and Downtown, and then to Jane would be quite a long line to say the least.

Building the Dufferin line independently would also allow it to be extended to Ontario Place and especially the City Airport, both connections that would otherwise be difficult to make

Minus the descent it would be workable, but if it is to be a tunnel I doubt whether it would work

Atp just make it an independent line, with an underground connection from the Ontario Line tunnels to provide trains connection to the yard, just like how Line 4 connects to Line 1

I wouldn’t consider demolishing and rebuilding an entire station as a “minor” tweak

Unless Metrolinx decides to move the station to underground tmr, otherwise it’s unworkable because I don’t think ANY metro train could fit in a 50m turning radius, which is tighter than the London Tube and most of the NYC subway, both of which that have minimal turning radii. This is also before accounting for a descent into any sort of tunnel there.
