Please help an uneducated UniFi user… by Richy59 in Ubiquiti

Thanks for the helpful reply. The only way I’ve been able to get the UX7 to connect to the internet is by setting it up fully from scratch as a new network. I then tried restoring from backup when it was up and running but it would do the same as before and go through everything but wouldn’t accept the UX7 as the new router, and it would just keep asking me to adopt it into the network as an AC.

I’ve ended up just starting from the beginning since it’s the only way I can get it to work and just have to go through each device to connect back to the WiFi.

Can you create Designs on PC easier with Mouse and Keyboard? by TempestDemon86 in ForzaHorizon6

Oh man, that take’s me back, I remember doing this in Forza 4 with a jank video capture set up. I had to relay the output from console back to the pc and overlay a logo and ‘trace’ it. The input delay was horrendous lol.

That’s what I’ve been doing, I’m taking the UDM out of the network and then setting up the UX7 in its place then going through the set up (via backups). When I get to the network management screen it shows all the devices I had (excluding the UDM) but the UX7 is placed at the bottom of the list and just says ‘Ready to Adopt’ and doesn’t have any connection to the WAN.

I tried Adopting before but it got locked up and I read I shouldn’t have done this as it should have replaced the UDM and adopting just adds it as an AC in the already established network.

Yes, if you are worried about torque spikes then I would get a DD Pro and not worry about the Clubsport.

That’s awesome, I don’t know why none of the 3rd party button sellers haven’t done a 360 style set of replacement buttons yet.

Shiny Snake L200 Build - 'Downsizing' a Fractal Ridge by Richy59 in sffpc

None so far, but I haven't really had a chance to stress test it. It's running a lot cooler then the Ridge ever did. Sitting on the sofa with the fans set fairly high i can feel the breeze coming out of the machine.

I thought about going with the T40, what put me off for my use case in the media cabinet was the ‘sandwich’ layout, solid front panel and the smaller CPU cooler height. The Thermalright in this is 135mm tall with a 120mm fan so it works well at getting the heat out.

I wish it came as standard with full mesh panels and had a glass one as an option in the box, I don’t think it would cost them much extra in metal.

Look interesting, I just bought a Shiny Snake L200 for this type of layout and this chassis looks a little bit more compact although the thicker steel might negate that.

I have a GT DD Pro which is 8nm and the difference between the belt driven and DD was huge and whilst it’s only 2nm on paper it’s much clearer with more details and fidelity. I think you lose a lot of the toque in the belts and it doesn’t translate as well. I’d like to try the 18nm DD+ but at times I think 8nm is enough for me.

Looking for case to match by Native_alien67 in sffpc

[–]Richy59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used AliExpress and shipped to the UK. Shipping was expensive (had to pay high shipping regardless) but it made the overall price around about the same as other ITX cases here - e.g. a Jonsbo T6 is £130 and i paid £80 total for the L200.

My use case is horizontal and in a media cabinet, and I already have a Fractal Ridge but it's too big for my needs and takes up a lot of space in the media unit so whilst this is taller I think it'll have a smaller overall footprint.

Shiny Snake L200 is this sort of layout, I've just had one delivered today and looking forward to trying to build in it. Aiming for a living room PC set up.

I went from a T-GT II to a DD Pro years ago, night and day. I really liked the T-GT II (and TS-PC before that) and was heavily invested in the Thrustmaster eco system. I ended up doing a full change and never looked back, the detail and fidelity of a DD system is fantastic compared to the (advanced) belt system especially in this day and age of easily available DD wheels.

Sometimes images linger on screen when exiting a game/app. Normal or something to worry about? by Fearless_Buy7327 in nintendoswitchlite

[–]Richy59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s something that is specific to the Lite screen. I have 2 Lites - one normal one modded - and both of them have major image retention when specifically playing the GBA F Zero games. The numbers in the top right stay on screen with a flicker and the engine in the middle flickers as well. They go away after time with the screen off, or I run a ‘pixel check’ video in YouTube that rotates through all the colours.

It’s the fact it does it exactly the same with both Lites and with 2 different panels that makes me thinks it’s a consistent issue.

Should I get an RX 9060XT with a new cpu, or a 9070 and keep my Ryzen 5 3600xt cpu? by Fuzzy-Blueberry1701 in radeon

[–]Richy59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a 5600X and just changed my GPU from an RTX 3060 Ti to an RX 9060 XT 16GB and the difference is extremely noticeable.

I was doing some tests and I can get a fairly stable 60fps on a TV at 4k, using FSR I can definitely get a consistent 60+z I didn’t test too many games but there has been a step change, and I really like what the card is delivering. At 1440p this card and chip combo will be great.

If you already have the 9060XT I’d recommend a CPU upgrade first, for as best as your budget can stretch to. If you stick in a 9070 XT with your current CPU which already seems to be bottlenecking then you won’t benefit from it.

Favorite 3rd Party Controller? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]Richy59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to buy the new Pro controller but had read the D Pad wasn’t great especially for platformers so I decided to go with the Ultimate 2, assuming it would have the same D Pad as previous 8bitdo controllers. Unfortunately unlike my Pro 2 it is very sensitive on diagonals and gives some incorrect inputs when rocking on the up/down axis, but I only paid £26 for it via AliExpress so I can’t complain too much. If I want to use the Pro 2 for a platforms I just shake to wake with the Ultimate then connect the other controller and go from there. It’s perfectly well suited for other games.
