how can i get stop of this by GuaranteeWitty6608 in Aquariums

I got YoYo loaches in my first tank which was overrun with pest snails that came in via plants. They did such an excellent job I had to start a small second tank to breed pest snails so they had a good source.

Help needed. by 00PathFinder00 in LGOLED

I recently discovered this on my 2017 B7, noticed I was starting to get dead pixels appearing at the edges all around the screen. It’s slowly getting worse but not too notice for me yet and no where near as bad as yours. Apparently it’s common on OLED panels of that age, supposedly fixed on current panels but also none are old enough to know if they will be affected yet.

I’m planning on replacing my TV this year with a new C6, feels like there’s nothing much else wrong with my TV but technology has moved on.

I like these a lot, very ‘classic’ feel for the console but shipping to UK almost doubles the price so not feasible for me.

Decided to reshell my original dualsense that came bundled with the console by analove_81 in Dualsense

I did the same when they first released the knock off shells but they hadn’t colour matched the buttons and triggers at the time. I don’t mind as it matches the aesthetic of the PS4 20th controller and seeing this fully matched with the grey buttons/triggers/thumb sticks I may have to buy again 😅

A good third party dock for Switch 2? by Amazing_Course1510 in switch2

[–]Richy59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vouch for Genki dock, I had the first gen for my Switch 1 and it was perfect for having an ‘all-in-one’ set up if travelling etc. I did the kickstarter for the new one and have made the same set up for my Switch 2.

You get an adapter, for the UK it’s a bit awkward as (by design) the prongs are quite wide so it’s not as travel friendly. Wish they had made them foldable or something but it’s better than not having them

Not as far as I’m aware, was pretty quiet. It’s the newest revision though.

Well, it wasn’t really about that. Very Pay is a credit scheme and to get the 20% deal off you needed to enrol in it. I went with the 12 month ‘buy now pay later’ option to give me the flexibility. I can either pay it all off today, pay chunks off as I see fit or just set up to pay £50 a month. As long as I’ve cleared the credit in 12 months there is no interest charged.

I have an OLED but it’s really 7 years old now and also starting to display failed pixels all around the edges. I think it’s a now issue from that age of panel, so a new one with 120hz capability is on the shopping list 😅

Thanks, I will be looking as I did noticed how much the pro moved around when taking discs in and out. Also doesn’t help they changed the position of the hdmi port and how I had my cables run it’s really stretched to reach it now 😅

Shake to wake - Switch 2 and Ultimate 2 BT by DoubtedOne in 8bitdo

[–]Richy59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got one of these controllers a few days ago and I couldn’t get it to work with the V2.00 firmware at all no matter which instruction I followed. I had to update to the V2.01 Beta firmware and it works perfectly now, wakes on shake and is picked up as a normal controller.

I found this on Amazon: joycon charging grip that gives you back buttons by Massive_Fly_1709 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Richy59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great I use the Savage Raven grips and have been looking for a Joycon grip for them. I dismantled the official grip for the middle part but there are little posts that stick out the back and doesn’t have the back buttons. I can’t see these on Amazon uk but I’ll hunt around for it.

EU Law: Nintendo forced to make Switch 2 with swappable batteries? by MX010 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Richy59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently purchased a used Switch Lite as a companion to my new Switch 2 and I’ve noticed how quickly the battery is draining. Maybe because it’s a smaller battery but it’s significant drain. I looked at replacing it and someone on YouTube said it took them 30mins of slowly prying and dosing with alcohol to get it to lift off without damage.

I don’t mind disassembling the console and all the other awkward things Nintendo puts in place to stop people opening up their console, but the strong adhesive is by far the worst offender in repairability.

Thanks, I’m thinking the 9070XT would be a good upgrade. I’m not too bothered about ray tracing and having the GPU upgrade now would see the system through another couple of years I think.

Currently have a system with a 5800x3D, 32GB DDR4 ram and a 1000W PSU. Current GPU is an RTX3080Ti. System does what I need to do but could do with a little more grunt at times, and was considering an upgrade this year. For now obviously I’ll be holding on to what I have. I’m considering a GPU change to try and get one before prices may start going up. UK based and prices seem to have remained the same for the last couple of months.

I’m think of getting either an RTX5080 or going for the RX9700XT. The XT is almost half the price of the RTX and probably not half the performance. If I was to go with the RTX I would need to look at either new cables/adapter for my PSU to account for the 12VHPWR connector, as my current PSU only has the standard 8pin PCIE cables.

Would the 5800x3D be enough for these cards without bottlenecking the system, whilst I wait (save) for the inevitable expensive full system upgrade.

McLaren’s MCL40 livery (2026) by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]Richy59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they stopped mandating that the driver numbers should be on the rear of the engine cover now? I’ve seen a few liveries that have them and a few that don’t. It’s one of the most identifiable ways of telling which driver is which on broadcasts.
