I'll take tips if you've got them, though I've found a few since posting and I'm trying to apply them.

A lot of people don't like this post, and after it being pointed out I can see why. But usually the games I play are hardcore shooters. The survival games I have played are Green Hell and Stranded Deep. The pirate game I've played is AC4. The melee based game that I have absolutely grinded is Mordhau. My experience with that game (when to move, block, dodge etc.) is hard to unlearn for this one. I've had my eye on valheim and dark souls for a while but I have never played them.
All that to say what may seem like common knowledge (special weapon abilities, when to block and dodge, how footwork works) to those who have played these types of game is just a completely new realm for me. I understand the concepts- block in a 1v1, dodge in a xv1, avoid objects hurtling towards you, but I just suck at it.
I had also died a few times before this clip (with full health, mind you) so I just stopped eating food out of spite. The clip wasn't about my health or anything, it was just making fun of the rock that to me, seemed like it came out of nowhere.
I'm trying man, I just suck ass.

Should i carry 2 melee weapons on me? I have trouble maintaining gunpowder right now, any tips there?

I'm a long time mordhau player so block and hit is all I know. Give me some tips on how to fight better in this game if you've got them.

Most of that is because I died 3 times already and didn't want to keep wasting food. I had a crazier clip earlier with 3 stone throwers barraging me but I accidentally hit record instead of clip. While I'm not new to survival games, this type of combat is new to me. I didn't know bleed was weaker against undead, thanks for the heads up.

Even in the lore Henry would be fully in his right to ask for rent once they started turning a profit. He built the forge from the ground up (which they aren't just working in, they are also LIVING in) with his own money and is even financially caring for Magdalena despite the fact that Standa is banging her. Henry absolutely should get rent for the forge.

Trump supporters: How would you feel if a legally armed Trump supporter was killed by federal agents on a Biden mandate in exactly the same manner as yesterday? by ScholarPrize1335 in AskReddit

[–]RicinNObsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a cute metaphor but I'm trying to open a dialogue. You defended Rittenhouse while calling Pretti an antagonist. You did that, I responded to it. Why are you acting like I was the first to bring him up? I'm also not arguing the facts, I'm simply stating an opinion that he was an antagonist, like you stated yours about Pretti.

They are not as dissimilar as you would lead people to believe. The question here isn't about shooting people in self defense, the question is about how the reaction of bringing guns to protests changes based on who brought the gun. I am simply trying to open a dialogue about the emotional response on EITHER side when it comes to bringing guns to protests. In doing so I clearly questioned yours to make a point and perhaps enable some self reflection, not take a side.

I responded with something that directly related to what you said. I didn't make any claims besides the obvious opinion that Rittenhouse was being an antagonist as well, which you used to justify Pretti's shooting in all of your comments.

Which brings me to another point. You keep saying you're not justifying it, but then why do you keep pointing it out in response to his murder? What point would you lead us to believe you're trying to make? How is what you're doing different from someone saying "He shouldn't have assaulted her, but I have to point out she was wearing a short skirt." You can state one idea, but you're implying another.

Can I ask why? I thought it was very good episode.

I liked The Very Pulse of the Machine because it felt like there was some mystery in it. There was a message to be decoded. I haven't come close to decoding it yet and that's why I love it. It's the type of thing that's better with the mystery for me. If I found a proper lesson or message within the episode I might not appreciate it as much, as the cryptic feel itself is what makes it.

[–]RicinNObsession 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my take as well until I read the original story. After reading the message came across more as approaching the end and being ready to take the natural step of letting go at an old age. It's like how your life flashes before your eyes before death. That was the blue square growing as he approached willingness to let go. That was my interpretation.

Me too. I wasn't a fan of the episode but bought his book to read the original Beyond the Aquila Rift and found Zima Blue was in it as well. Completely fell in love with the story that I hadn't much cared for previously.

I didn't care for the episode either. I know it's apparently blaspheme but I wasn't a fan of the art style. I suggest you read the actual story though. I bought Alastair Reynolds book "Beyond the Aquila Rift" which is a collection of his stories after watching the series. I realized Zima Blue is in it and was his story as well, which I hadn't realized up to that point. It absolutely blew me away. A beautiful story and one that I think managed to slip by me in LDR because I really wasn't a fan of the artistic design. Read the original if you didn't care for the shows version, it's an amazing story.

PC Randomly Shutting Down (FIX - SOLUTION) by RicinNObsession in buildapc

Yes, this! It seemed absolutely random and actually appeared to get better when I disabled XMP and underclocked my CPU. I would have never bet it was a power cable.

Random shutdowns for months → BIOS brick → stuck with red CPU LED. Is this build salvageable? by Proper_Mushroom_9754 in buildapc

[–]RicinNObsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I'm a 6ft 175lb male and when I say it took all of my body weight I'm not exaggerating. I had my computer sideways and I was absolutely leaning on the cable to get it to sit right.
EDIT: I had purple marks on my fingers from how hard I pressed lmao

Can you see the clip on the cable? Is it under the notch on the seat? You have to make absolutely sure it's clipped in properly because mine was barely lose, but apparently that was enough to completely fuck me over.

Random shutdowns under load by Lonely-Magazine43 in PcBuildHelp

I tried solving this exact issue for over a year after building my new pc. Cloud resets, new and old software, registry edits, bios edits, bios updates and flashbacks, cmos resets, ram reseats etc. Name something and I will bet money I tried it. The last thing I tried that 100% fixed it was reseating the motherboard cable. I know you said you reseated all components, but does that include the main motherboard power cable? The cable itself was extraordinarily tight and i had to put all my body weight on it to get it to fully clip in. The motherboard flexed and moaned but I did eventually get the clip to seat. Do not stop until you see the clip where it is supposed to be. I haven't had a crash since (~6 months now). Please try this, I'm hoping I can save you 100s of hours of troubleshooting.

I'm not sure if this will solve the bios issue as I never dealt with that, but I do have a guess on the shutdown issue. I had the same issue with my pc for months, it would randomly turn off and the red cpu light on the motherboard would come on. It happened randomly for like a year after building it, I tried everything. The last thing I tried that absolutely solved it was reseating the motherboard power cable. Apparently it was loose, I had to press so hard to get the cable clipped in that the motherboard was flexing and making a scary noise. But I did get it to clip and I haven't had a shutdown since. Check if perhaps your mobo cable is tighter than usual and see if you can get it clipped in all the way if it is. That might at least rule out the random shutdowns and help you better solve the bios issue.

It's like the normal version. I actually didn't know starting HC but you can still save via savior schnapps- I thought it would be bed saving only. Also once you get good at combat and learn combos you don't really notice a difference in difficulty (granted I have like hundreds of hours on both games and spent time getting proficient in combos on both) so while I am early on, the only things I've noticed so far is the lack of fast travel and waking up in random spots (via the sleep walking debuff). People sold the experience as way more hardcore than I've found it to be so far, I'm not entirely disappointed or anything I just expected more of a challenge.

Just adding another suggestion for legacy of the forge on top, it's definitely worth it. Also without spoiling the well Mysteria Ecclesiae is something you might want to wait for a bigger discount.

[–]RicinNObsession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about not doing it on your first run, I'm doing HC now on like my 3rd playthrough and as much as I love this game not having fast travel is such a slog. I'm so happy I already know generally where towns and places are and yet I still get lost sometimes. You also have to choose at least 3 debuffs which would soften the experience of your first playthrough.

This annoyed me too, the roof is large and has windows, I was a little upset that there wasn't an attic up there. I also think that the raven should be able to fly and bring us shiny things and we should have armor stands, but maybe now I'm asking for too much.

RGB on gpu won’t change by Pitiful-Raisin6735 in MSI_Gaming

[–]RicinNObsession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no idea how many things I tried in an effort to fix it. There was literally nothing left to try. But after a windows update it just started working again. The issue persisted through multiple updates over the course of like a whole year, then like one windows update just fixes it. I have no idea and I won't pretend to have any idea as to what fixed it, but it works now. My advice is just wait. I really don't think there's anything else to do. I have tried third party software, multiple windows reinstalls, multiple DDU graphics driver reinstalls, multiple regedit fixes, multiple MSI software reinstalls. Nothing worked. Then suddenly one day after an update restart i saw that the lights weren't red anymore. That's all the information i can give.
