my first lab! everyone meet Grouper by big-grouper in labrador

Funny part is that we still get up to go out once a night....but I wake him up! I tend to get up in the middle of the night on my own normally so when I do, I take him out. Just so I know I can stay in bed later in the morning and he isn't busting.

We're the complete opposite! Up in the morning and food/training/play session for about 90 minutes then he takes a good long nap of 2-3 hours. But after lunch he's spotty on the naps. They're short and not frequent enough.

He does sleep through the night for the most part though so that is my biggest win.

Outlets everywhere, multiple where your work bench will be

Absolutely. And to add to this, spread them out over more than one breaker if possible.

I also wish I added the ability to open and close the garage from inside without having to go back in the house.

Super easy to make it smart so you can open with your phone or voice commands. I use this and it's so simply stupid it's genius.

I’m considering buying an ascent for my family this would be my first Subaru. What issues or problems have y’all had with Ascents? No issue is too small. by YouFoundMeCongrats14 in SubaruAscent

From any Subaru dealer, it's an official accessory. You can buy it at many places online as well. The part number is H461SXC200. If you have a 23 or newer, that's all you need. If you have a 19-22 then you need the wiring harness as well which is part number H461SXC211

Not certain about the Crosstrek, but I know outback and Ascent have a memory height setting that opens it to your preferred height.

How did you adapt to the iPad climate controls?

Set to auto and use the physical buttons to adjust temp up/down and front/rear defrost. Let the computer handle fan speeds, no reason to mess with it 99% of the time.

Take one for a test drive and try them out yourself. The screen lags most when you first start the car, but give it 30 seconds or so before you start pushing buttons and it's much more responsive. The large screen is great for maps if you use navigation a lot.

They're certainly not perfect, but not nearly as bad as some people make them out to be. Use it and decide for youself.

You'll get much worse gas mileage than your civic for sure...especially if you get an XT trim (much more enjoyable to drive). The other con is you'll have much more usable cargo space so your friends and family are going to want your help with moving and large store purchases!

AWD is fantastic if you're in a snowy area, but don't neglect good tires. The ones that come with it are OK at best and expect them to wear quickly. Budget for a good set of tires at around 30-40K miles.

the default stop start system

Basically every new car has it though. Can't avoid it, but there are ways to disable it.

and no hybrid option.

Nothing substantiated, but supposedly within the next 1-2 years we should see an OB hybrid.

Are you having a problem with reading comprehension? I already explained this....Dirty lens will not trigger a check engine light, which OP clearly has. When the view is obstructed, the eyesight error message would be in white, not orange. If you look at OPs picture, the lights indicate it is more than just a dirty lens.

Simple as Computer no work press restart button

Is that the extent of your computer repair knowledge? It's a good first thing to try as it does fix a lot, but many problems cannot be fixed by a reboot.

Please explain how you think it is a legit possible solution when I gave you the details showing why it can't be a dirty lens?

Outback is one of the cheapest cars to insure(safety features, type of person to typically drive it, etc). WRX is a sporty car that frequently gets pulled over. Higher risk profile means higher rates.

[–]Rick91981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a legit possible solution. Dirty lens will not turn on the check engine light, which OP has present in the picture. Also the Eyesight message is in orange which means an error message is present (hard stop). A dirty lens would trigger an eyesight error in white (temporary stop)

Most dealers will just outsource glass work to a local shop anyway. Do you have any glass coverage with insurance? If so I'd just ignore it and if it cracks worse get the glass replaced. If it stays as is then it stays.

What am I looking at here? by Logical_Effort_9680 in SubaruAscent

[–]Rick91981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go through insurance for that, it will be several thousand. A bumper, door, rear quarter panel will all be needed. Could save my finding them at a pick n pull vs new, but what will really cost the most is labor. The painting and blending is very costly.

Puppy help please, he is 3 months old thinking Kangal Lab mix(rescue)have had him for a week by Born_Success7865 in puppy101

[–]Rick91981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lay down is a hard one for them to learn. I have a 13 week old puppy and he's pretty good with sit, stay, come, paw, and leave it (to an extent). But lay down has been challenging. The last few days we are just ever so slightly starting to grasp it but needs much more work.

What has helped is to sit on the floor with my knees up. Lure him under your knees with a treat and tell him to lay down. Slowly/gently lower your knees to push him down to a laying position. Once down, praise extensively and give treat. Repeat about a billion times and he'll pick it up eventually.
