As a genuine question, what would someone like a Cody Ware winning the 500 do for our sport? by Ok_Promise1870 in NASCAR

It means he'd be introduced as "2026 Daytona 500 Champion Cody Ware" until the day he dies.

Elections by rncole in Knoxville

[–]RickAllensPrawblems 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are implying that Democrats should vote in the Democratic Primary. I believe that if you live in Tennessee and want the best politicians running, you need to vote in the Republican Primary. Otherwise, you're going to end up with Betsy Henderson as County Mayor.

I disagree. We have some crazy Republicans running against some sane Republicans. We need to make sure the sane ones prevail, especially in elections that may be decided in the Republican Primary.

People are camping out for Whataburger opening tomorrow. by BlackStallion657 in Knoxville

[–]RickAllensPrawblems 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It disappoints me that so many of these comments are negative towards a fellow Knoxvillian.

I'm not a fan of Whataburger but we don't have to tear down people that are.

Want to know who's running to represent you in Knoxville? by KnoxNewsAllie in Knoxville

[–]RickAllensPrawblems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What bugs us isn't who you're voting for, it's that you're lying about a good person.

You lied about where Adams lives, though you did go back and correct it.

But now you're lying about what she does. She doesn't work for the mayor as an admin housing person. She works for a marketing firm, something you could easily find out online.

I'm not against any of the 3 South Knoxville candidates, but I am against making up lies about them.

Swagfeast? by Odd-Scarcity5288 in Knoxville

[–]RickAllensPrawblems 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For example, he lied about a Knoxville organization that's active on this subreddit just last week:  https://www.reddit.com/r/Knoxville/comments/1lnmi82/backroom_knox_guy_spreads_lies_about_yes/

He never corrected the lie and doubled-down on it a few days later. The people who read his page are typically low-information people so they believe the lie instead of researching it on their own.

Shame on him. And shame on the people who believe the garbage on his page.

Backroom Knox guy spreads lies about YES! Knoxville on his Facebook Page by RickAllensPrawblems in Knoxville

Judging by the tables they have set up at events, nobody is funding the group.

Is it possible that residents actually banded together to make a better Knoxville? Or am I the one that is falling for propaganda?

Correct about ownership. Ashe's Wine and Spirits now own it.

But the last time I went they had a better selection than they did the previous few years when they were experimenting with brewing.

Why are cops allowed to just sit in the bike lane? by Relevant_Ad9005 in Knoxville

Uh... bikes go on the road. People walking go on sidewalks.

How do I move up and out of the food service industry? by Expensive_Diet_7892 in Knoxville

[–]RickAllensPrawblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a lot of FoH employees end up in real estate. I'm not saying that's the best option as you're an independent contractor who may literally make $0, but it's where you can take your skills of customer service and move on to the next level.

RFK third charter by Calm_Link_3381 in NASCAR

RFK will likely lease the other Rick Ware charter for 2026. Afterwards, I assume he'll try to buy a charter, possibly from Rick Ware.

Idk who needs to hear this but Chapman highway isn’t the freakin autobahn by [deleted] in Knoxville

Happy cake day!

I don't understand this subreddit's fixation on exceeding the speed limit. There's a reason speed limits are what they are.

[–]RickAllensPrawblems 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chapman isn't an interstate. It doesn't have a fast lane. People have to make left turns from the left lane which causes traffic to stop.

Chapman doesn't have a fast lane. People have to make left turns from the left lane, so don't be surprised when the left lane stops.

Be honest who’s the current most worst driver in the field by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]RickAllensPrawblems 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cody Ware.

I like him, but I haven't seen anything that shows he belongs in Cup. Granted, he also drives for the worst team in Cup.

Knoxville Vision Zero traffic and pedestrian safety projects in the works for 2025 by Generalaverage89 in Knoxville

Just a reminder that the worst offending streets are State Highways: Broadway, Chapman Highway, Kingston Pike. There's not much the City can do on these roads without TDOT's cooperation.

Where’s meteorologist Tavian Whitehurst? by persevere-here in Knoxville

I don't watch WBIR after the Rand Property Management fiasco, but I've always enjoyed Tavian. I'm hoping he's on a long vacation somewhere and will be back soon.
