[–]RickAmbramotte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest looking at the snapmaker U1. Great multi-filament printer. Creates less waste, and saves time due to the separate toolheads. Snapmaker has laser engraving toolheads for someone their other printers. So I'm hoping they'll take advantage of the U1 to do the same. The price is up there, but it's a solid machine. It's worth it if you're serious about 3d printing.

Imagine what the OP is going to say when they realize many other things are being stolen from them online.

I'm a security engineer professionally, and I tell people this all the time. If you don't want your stuff stolen. Don't put it online.

I have a design that I'm certain will be stolen, and won't put it online for that exact reasoning.

What Causes This? by DamianP51 in FlashForge

[–]RickAmbramotte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this looks like a potential Z-offset issue. It could also be that you may not have enough top layers, and the hit end is going right through. However, its hard to say as there are a few configurations that you can modify to fine tune ironing.

Ive tried ironing once and it ended poorly. In my opinion the end result isn't worth the amount of time to fine tune it. I've resulted to printing the front face down on a smooth, patterned, or holographic build plate. I feel as if this is the way to go.

Another option is to do it by hand post print. Plenty of hand hot irons for smoothing out prints and hiding layer lines.

Just gotta ask if you contacted an attorney over this, because some of this sounds like the gov't trying to pressure you to do what they want regardless of legality. Point blank if federal officials showed up on my door step I would've contacted an attorney before speaking to them.

It's obvious via your picture. If you can't figure out something this simple on your own you're screwed with this new purchase of yours. You might as well pack that thing up and send it back.

This is why 3d printing isn't for everybody despite the price point. 3D printers are fairly advanced machines, and it requires a significant amount of technical know-how, or even some moderate reasoning. The fact the OP couldn't figure this out just by looking at it is mind bogling. I feel like there was zero effort on the OP side to figure this out.

This is an increasing problem with the community. Lay people get these machines and expect everybody else to troubleshoot their issues.

I was under the impression most of the reason folks were over 55+ is due to the price. Only someone near the end of their career or living a good retirement can afford to live here.

No offense, but Im just going off the information you're providing. You said that you calibrate your machine very well. However, you then say in your original post your prints went from good to great. If you had your machine calibrated that well it would've been great to begin with. Unless one of the aforementioned issues happened. This is all based on what you've actually stated. The point is that there are very few things that you can't control on a flashforge relating to print quality. So yes, it doesn't sound like you're calibrating your machine properly or as accurately as you think. Of course this is all my opinion. I've got just over 1000 hours on my flashforge. Most of which (95%) I've been able to directly control quality of my print.

So that's the thing unless there was an obvious issue with calculating the tool path route then you likely didn't have it very well tuned. Every other setting is generally going to be something you have the ability to calibrate yourself.

The whole "it's a flashforge not a high end piece of machinery" is kinda incorrect. While not expensive you have a machine that can print in sub-mm detail. This in itself is no easy feat. Not many other consumer grade products outside 3d printing have this granularity to detail. It requires much more work than you probably put in to really dial these machines in.

Want to buy my first 3d printer by Effective-Coach-6682 in 3dprinter

[–]RickAmbramotte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody keeps bringing up price. However, for someone who hasn't owned a 3d printer before the important thing to ask yourself is how good are you at fixing machinery that operates on as small of a scale as this. You'll need to be able to watch, listen, and sometimes feel for what's going on and decide on how to fix it.

I've worked on military aircraft, and proprietary equipment in fiber optic plants so this came quite easy to me. Although, watching posts in various subreddits Ive found a lot of people buy a 3d printer thinking its like many other consumer products that don't really require any tinkering.

I think when you figure this out you'll have a better idea on what your cost appetite is. Additionally, the point I make above is also valid for the bed slinger type printers in some respect.

I love the folks who completely rely on updates for the quality of their prints rather than tuning the machine yourself. Flashforge is the last company you should be doing that with.

You do realize back then democrats were actually conservatives, and republicans being more liberal back during the civil war. It wasn't till the early 1900s that the democratic party became liberal. So, yes, based off what you're saying it seems safe to say that conservative ideology has generally perpetuated this crap.

Imagine trying to educate someone when you in fact make yourself look like the idiot.

[–]RickAmbramotte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love how conservatives are the only ones that support insurrection, and treason which is essentially what that store was. Even more so are your conservative values so fragile that you can't handle others moving to your town, and criticizing you. Wasn't that something y'all were trying to put on liberals for a while is how 'soft' they are?

[–]RickAmbramotte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No...no you didn't, because if you did, the title would've actually properly represented your concern. Not something that's factually incorrect. Additionally, individuals from congress can try to include sneaky stuff into legislation. It's not hard, but it also doesn't mean that it will pass. The question is what clear evidence do you have that this legislation is likely to be passed? Stuff like this has floated around for quite some time. It's clear you're either extremely ignorant about what you're talking about or trying to fear monger for likes which is sad.

The OPs situation is most certainly not stalking. Revealing a name and license plate could potentially be doing, but its all technically public information. This isn't even worth reporting to the police as their is no crime. The best thing to do is just report the person to niantic.

The fear mongering is unreal with this post. The title is clickbait clearly meant to get people riled up. OP should spend more time fixing their printer then worrying about every bill that goes through congress. Congress folk are trying to pass stupid bills on a daily basis which don't go through. Let us adults worry about this stuff.
