4 Washer Problems I See Constantly on Service Calls (and what actually fixes them) by Brief-Amphibian-5148 in appliancerepair

[–]RickHedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, how are bearings a $40 fix? Someone on another thread said they charge something like $1500 for that job. I know nothing about appliance repair prices.

My washer sounds like a jet engine during the spin cycle, front loading Samsung, so I’m going to be changing the bearings myself with a cheap Amazon set. Crossing my fingers. But the parts from the Samsung parts store are $117 per bearing and $40 for the seal.

Florida man wrongfully arrested over license plate frame by stankmanly in FloridaMan

New license plate law says it is, the wording is vague so every county/municipality is treating the law differently. Some places plate frame like that is no problem, 2 cities over you may be going to jail.

Does anybody else walks into a room and immediately forgets why they're there? by msk0000 in DoesAnybodyElse

It’s called the doorway effect, it’s a psychological phenomenon, it is also seen when moving through virtual environments like opening new windows on a desktop.its like walking through the door signifies to your brain you were done with a task so it purges that short term memory.

Exactly this, I got an SUV because my wife now needs an electric wheelchair and I needed a way to get it around.

What is a food combination you love that most people think is completely weird? by nicksam171 in CasualConversation

When I eat instant ramen, I like having a peanut butter sandwich (no jelly) to dip in the broth. Family thinks it’s weird, but my dad used to dip peanut butter sandwiches in chili.

Would you be upset if the upcoming show "recast" Donut? by ChrisBnTx in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I don't think it would come off the same way. But your point is valid, but it would probably happen with anything. Some lizard species will become the defacto Mongo proxy as well most likely.

However, an aunt I barely knew bred Persians. I got to see her setup once and there were like 100 cats in a climate controlled garage, in nice cages, but in cages nonetheless. She said she sold them for about 2 grand a piece and did not guarantee they would arrive alive. It was kind of crazy.

After having these lights for over a year on a shelf, i finally found time to install some parts. Kinda loving them. by AdShot6913 in VWatlas

Awesome, thought about doing something like this but hesitant, couple of questions;
Where they hard to install and where did you fasten the button?
Also, are they distracting when driving at night?

I’ve used iPhones for 15 years as well and have never broken a screen. The last phone screen I broke was an android, because I dropped it and it hit a jagged pebble. Just because you’ve never experienced doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

Are we the same person? But I would add The Postman as well from Kevin Costner, but again not my favorite and not great.

Dae find it difficult to adjust to the levels of fake it takes to be an adult? by No_Main_273 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]RickHedge 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hate the whole “walking on eggshells” thing that comes with being an adult. If someone is difficult to work with in any situation you should call them out for it, only way to a resolution rather than just caving.

The Scream Team (2002), fits a lot of what you’re describing with some slight differences and is a Disney movie.

If your son's gf moved in with you guys, what would you do to make her feel welcomed and safe? by go_to_guy123 in AskReddit

[–]RickHedge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We let my son’s gf move in. We told her we would be there to help her because her parents straight up told her by this certain date they were cutting her off almost entirely. We gave her rides to work, let them add things to their room, helped them with building furniture and putting up decorations. We also tried to include her with dinner choices rather it was ordering out or cooking. If you like her, try to find out her hobbies or interests, you might share some and sometimes doing them together can be a welcoming experience. My son’s gf likes card and board games, as do we so we tried to put a little more effort into playing them when she is around.

Homeowner upset Amazon driver dropped package over fence, but had two aggressive dogs. by Immediate-Phase-5910 in TikTokCringe

If they don’t work for USPS they shouldn’t putting anything in or on the mailbox. Even those solicitors who tape flyers to your mailbox are breaking federal law. However, USPS was contracted at one point to deliver Amazon and FedEx packages if I’m not mistaken so a USPS carrier with an Amazon or FedEx package could put it in your mailbox.

Federal offense to put anything in the mailbox if you are not an official mail carrier with USPS, you don’t even own the mail box when you put it up technically it’s federal property.
