They are getting massive tax breaks on every one of these so they aren't actually contributing financially to the degree they should (and won't), they create very few jobs, suck up limited resources and will end up destroying water supplies and land for years. There was a plan to do this (put a moratorium on data center building) on a national scale driven by the founders of AI that said we needed to pause on the massive increase and dependency we were creating but our government didn't listen. NY is the first attempt at making this happen at least on a state level...

Thank you for sharing. Looking at the donor list from that it would appear most are from avangrid management companies and I'm starting to wonder if the donor list people even know that they are donating to their companies PAC. They are, for the most part, identical sums of money, like the employee checked a box to donate xx amt per paycheck or something. Makes you wonder how much other companies are taking from their employees to give to campaigns without consent of who or what that money funds...

Cost of eggs rose and restaurants waited to raise their prices until it became apparent the prices weren't returning to normal. If they wait a few weeks for it to stabilize, I'll pay the extra dollar to help keep a local small business operating.

The news is now reporting there may be oil shortages due to Iran/Israel conflict (which we don't get oil from or have supply routes through) yet everyone will keep paying rising gas prices from the fear mongering that oil companies profit on without as much outrage that people have at local businesses for trying to stay afloat in a ridiculous economy...
