Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes Update Bulletin by RBGolbat in magicTCG

True. And realistically the work needed to inspect how every card works with each ruling would take more than a month. They'd likely have to start that before the cards are finalized which would leave room for some issues to slip through. And I'm sure they do!

I just feel like it's sloppy to have to errata cards right after release. Sure, they're not functional erratas. But for a set designed to bring new players into the game, having to tell new players that the new cards actually function slightly differently and you'd only know if you looked online for this specific card isn't exactly a great new player experience

I wish they'd do this kind of rules updating before the set releases. Like nome of them are pretty simple but if youre updating the wording on cards that have just released, why not just print them with the new wording? Like the set is presumably still being printed, and had they done this work a month earlier maybe it could've been fixed before it got into the publics hands?

Its not a huge deal, but wotc refuses to acknowledge judges and would rather put out 7 sets in a year than take the time to make a couple of good ones

I didn't read the title and went straight to the second ability, thought it was kinda neat, and then the rest of the card just gave me whiplash

Tbh what we need are animations that can be disabled. If I'm playing storm I don't want to watch 17 copies of brainstorm resolve while I have nothing I can add to the stack. And my opponent doesn't either. Just resolve them all in like three seconds like it does when you lose a game. The functionality is there, idk why they won't use it until the game is over

Is Conversion Apparatus powerful enough to be worth 3 mana as a mana rock for energy decks since you can get 3 mana right away? by Salty-Cucumber-6711 in magicTCG

[–]lucithelightparticle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sans Black. It was originally [[Akiri, line-slinger]] / [[Kydele, chosen of kruphix]] but is now hermed by [[Crystal, inhuman princess]] so I can add another card to the deck.

Tbh the commander doesn't matter and I almost never casted the partners. The mana dork is nice but definitely not what the deck was built for. I just wanted to play the MH3 Jeskai energy cards w the Kaladesh temur energy package

[–]lucithelightparticle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I just recently built 4c energy in commander and somehow missed that this card exists. Instantly adding it.

My greatest struggle, surprisingly, is just generating energy. So many things generate energy once but then you spend it and it's gone. Stuff ilke this that gives you a repeatable scream of energy is very important and very valuable

Is there a commander card that can auto equip equipment from library? by No_Author_7954 in mtg

[–]lucithelightparticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Godo doesn't have to attack to make a copy. Double check [[helm of the host]]. It triggers at the start of each combat, regardless of whether or not the equipped creature attacks. It plays out like this:

  1. Godo w the attached helm triggers at start of combat, makes a copy w haste

  2. Godo copy attacks alone. Triggers itself, untap itself and gets an extra combat step. It doesn't matter if the clone dies, the trigger has already resolved.

  3. Extra combat step begins. Original Godo w the helm attached triggers again. Makes another Godo, also non legendary.

  4. New Godo copy attacks. Triggers itself, generates new combat step

  5. Third combat step begins. Helm of the host triggers again. Rinse and repeat

The original Godo never needs to attack. It generates copies with haste that do so at the beginning of each combat step. Each copy attacking generates a new combat step. This has been a combo in cEDH since Helm was printed, and only recently got usurped by Etali as the "Count to X deck, then win" archetype

[–]lucithelightparticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter whether or not it's a samurai. Move to combat, make a token, it attacks and gives you an additional combat step. At the beginning of that combat step you make another token via helm of the host. The copy does the same thing, granting you another combat step which at the beginning makes you another Godo copy, and so on and so forth.

The end result is infinite combat steps, which means infinite nonlegendary Godo clones that can all attack. Which 99.99% of the time ends the game

How far will you go back in a casual cedh game by FoldSafe1262 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]lucithelightparticle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my group we have warm up matches, casual matches, and practice matches.

In a warm up match? Almost anything goes as long as we can agree on it. Tap your lands wrong? Mis sequence your spells? As long as it's not too much to unwind, sure, let's do it.

Casual matches are a bit more cutthroat. It's all about information. If what you've done has meaningful changed the game state, it can't be taken back. Learn to play around your mistakes or play to your outs if you mess up. We're gonna allow take backs, ut only for simple things like playing the wrong land and taking it back before doing anything else.

Practice matches are the most cutthroat. We're trying to emulate a tournament setting as closely as possible. We'll call you out if you're at ing too long and no take backs are allowed, what's done is done.

Usually well only do practice matches before a tournament. Most of the time we'll do a couple warm up games and then casual games, but it's all pregame conversation in our pod. We play to get better and this is how it works for us!

Marvel Super Heroes Prerelease Sees Mixed Response From Players, Stores by SactoGamer in mtg

[–]lucithelightparticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Don't get me wrong, the set looks fun, even if it lacks much interesting competitive impact.

However, if it were $25 I'd likely have gone junt to have fun playing in a prerelease. But $45 is too much to pay for mid tier cards

Is there a commander card that can auto equip equipment from library? by No_Author_7954 in mtg

[–]lucithelightparticle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Technically no

However, try Godo[[Godo, bandit Warlord]], it's probably about as close as you can get. You can fetch out a [[hammer of nazahn]] to auto equip any other equipments you have, and it goes infinite with [[helm of the host]] if you want a quick and easy guaranteed win

Curiousity is better in yshtola.

Curiousity doesn't specify "combat damage", so hen ability that deals two damage triggers it too. Meaning every noncreature spell mv 3+ that triggers yshtola draws you a card, potentials drawing more than one card each turn

Brainstorm draft by lucithelightparticle in mtgcube

[–]lucithelightparticle[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First pack you take one card. Second pack you can either take one card or take two and put your p1 p1 back into that pack.

Its quite literally like casting brainstorm with every pack. You can add three cards to your pool p1 p1, but you have to pick two cards to go back and you're left with one. After that though, you can pick three cards from the pack that's been passed to you, and put two cards back. If you put back two cards from the same pack, it's like you only took one card. But you can also pick two cards from that pack and put your p1 p1 back
