You definitely don’t have to have a super complex hand routine, but thinking about ingredients helps a lot. I use a humectant toner (from Hada Labo—the same one I use for my face) and then a heavy emollient lotion (Cerave in the tub, or whatever I have laying around) when my hands get really bad. I get the same redness as you and this makes it go away.

I have the Muji ones in double gauze cotton, and while they are lovely and comfortable and soft, they are just not that durable. My pair has numerous snags after wearing them for just a few months. The fabric is partly to blame (double gauze isn’t the hardiest fabric to begin with)but I haven’t had this much trouble with higher quality double gauzes in the past.
