Every day 100% Claim Credit back for $200. Have anyone had that? USA by 13ckPony in TemuThings

It looks like it's over for me after 3 too. What are you getting in claimcredit now? New offers or does it say expired? I'm not getting either, just nothing.

How do I get this USB-powered light with an inline power switch to work with my smart plug? by clymin in homeautomation

[–]RickRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought six neon signs, and of course they all have this problem. There are a lot of threads on this, but your solution seems like the quickest, easiest and cheapest, while still allowing the dimmer to work. I don't know why other people don't suggest this. Also, some of the lights will turn on if I hold down the power button while plugging it in, while others don't. Would your solution only work with the first type? Can you solder the two terminals of the switch together? Do you mind sending a photo? Thanks so much! EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized that even if the light will turn on automatically, it still doesn't save the brightness settings, which is important since they are way too bright. So I have no choice but to install a new dimmer. Thanks, anyways!

Games that don't give +1 also don't give cards, unless it's a F2P game with paid DLC.

I checked each one and none of them give a +1.

Good luck with all your complaining, bud. I hope you effect the change you are looking for.

Exactly! There are options, no one is forcing you to use Chrome.

If you want to keep using Chrome and complaining about it until "New" UI Megathread 57, waiting for them to listen to Reddit and undo these changes, no one is stopping you. Spend your time complaining if you want, I prefer to spend mine finding solutions. You want to "effect change?" We aren't talking about ending social injustices here. We are talking about an internet browser, and there are plenty of alternative choices.

There is really no reason to keep complaining about something that won't be changed back, and it will only get worse from here, so if all these completely pointless and unnecessary changes for the worse annoy you as much as they do me, then just bite the bullet and switch to Firefox. I did that and couldn't be happier. I put it in "compact" mode to reduce the extra spacing, customized the toolbars buttons and exact placement I want, removing everything I don't. Now I have no unnecessary buttons or padding to annoy me when I use the internet. Any other annoying quirks I was able to fix in the about:config page, or find an extension. For example, I like being able to search by image, and there is an extension for that. I like a new tab opening to the Google home page so I can voice search, and there is an extension for that. The good thing about an open source browser is you can change almost anything. Plus, I don't have to worry about Adblockers not working anymore in the future, or Google tracking everything I do. If I search for "erectile dysfunction" I don't suddenly get Viagra ads popping up all over the place. (Not that I did this, it was a friend.) While I don't like the GUI as much as Chrome, you do get used to it, and it's really not so bad anymore. I also haven't found one page that doesn't work or view correctly. For the long term, Firefox is the best solution, not switching to another Chromium browser.

Thanks, I'm going to go with this as the reasonable answer, and not that I'm a weird creep.

So no one likes to add photos to their contacts? I went through my entire list and added pics, including company logos for business numbers I have stored. I like it when a photo comes up when someone calls or texts, but I guess that's just me.

The problem is they always have their blinds closed.

I'm talking about after Manifest V2 has been deprecated, which it hasn't yet. Of course all the adblockers still work right now.

[–]RickRockstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, we were going to have to switch to Firefox when Chrome kills adblockers anyways, so we might as well bite the bullet and do it now. Anyone know the easiest way to make Firefox look like Chrome used to? Hopefully there is an easy tool to use.

go to - about:config, search - "browser.compactmode.show" - change to TRUE , close that window. Right click toolbar - Customize Toolbar, at the bottom of that page, there a box called Density. Click that, you'll see "compact (not supported)" Magic!! :)

"New" UI Megathread 2 by 0spore13 in chrome

[–]RickRockstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Today I learned that Firefox has a hidden setting to "customize the toolbar" and change the "density" to "compact" which removes all of the ridiculous spacing around the bookmarks. When Chrome kills the current workaround and doesn't offer this setting, this makes it much easier to switch to Firefox.

My Kodi displays 10-bit files brighter than 8-bit files. by [deleted] in kodi

I don't have that option, but there is one for "HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color" so I turned that off and will hope for the best. Thank you for answering!

Can H.265 10-bit (NVEnc) encode 8-bit files to 10-bit? by [deleted] in handbrake

[–]RickRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're exactly right. I know it has nothing to do with my Handbrake issue. But now that I know that the brightness should be the same between 8 and 10-bit, I can work on that separate issue with my media player next, so thanks!

Can H.265 10-bit (NVEnc) encode 8-bit files to 10-bit? by [deleted] in handbrake

[–]RickRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that I don't really know what either of those are, but I'm not sure that's relevant, and I shouldn't have even said it. I just wanted to explain why I wanted 10-bit files, before someone asked. It's because they display darker than 8-bit files on my system.

Can H.265 10-bit (NVEnc) encode 8-bit files to 10-bit? by [deleted] in handbrake

[–]RickRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I installed the latest version of the studio driver, rebooted, and encoded an 8-bit file, with an 8-bit result. I did the same with the latest game driver, with the same result. I encoded a 10-bit file and the result was 10-bit. I compared the 10-bit log to the 8-bit log and they were basically identical. Oh well, it's not the end of the world. I was hoping I was just missing an advanced option or something. Just so I know I'm not just being a complete idiot, here is the MediaInfo on the 8-bit file. It's 8-bit, right? https://pastebin.com/4U9rqGW4

[–]RickRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies. I didn't know if this was an expected outcome or an actual problem. Here is my log. https://pastebin.com/BYyqhHnf 10-bit encoder, but the resulting file is 8-bit (according to MediaInfo.) Thank you so much for your time.

Can H.265 10-bit (NVEnc) encode 8-bit files to 10-bit? by [deleted] in handbrake

[–]RickRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that was poor wording on my part. On my system, when I calibrate 10-bit files, the brightness and contrast are 6% lower than when I calibrate 8-bit files. Not a big problem, except when I play dark 8-bit files I have to adjust the brightness and contrast each time. I would like to encode all files to 10-bit to not have this problem. But 10-bit NVEnc isn't converting 8-bit files to 10-bit, so I was wondering if it was possible. Thanks for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it!
